CYBERJAYA (Nov 27): Brahim’s Holdings Bhd’s subsidiary Brahim's SATS Food Services Sdn Bhd and Malakat Mall in Cyberjaya have launched an entrepreneurship programme which is expected to attract the participation of 1,000 retrenched airline employees who are keen to generate income by selling quality frozen food products.
“There are many food items provided by Brahim's. We know that many airline crew members are affected and this opportunity is being offered specifically for them to generate income,” Malakat Mall chief executive officer Mohd Fadzli Hashim said after the signing of the strategic collaboration between Malakat Mall and Brahim's SATS Food Services here today.
He said interested candidates only need to provide capital as low as RM1,000.
Mohd Fadzli said among frozen foods that would be supplied to entrepreneurs participating in the programme were nasi lemak, special fried rice and pasta.

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines Ltd has set up pre-departure coronavirus tests for passengers through its booking platforms as part of efforts to revive travel demand destroyed by the pandemic.
People flying from Singapore as well as those travelling to the city-state from Jakarta and Medan in Indonesia can take tests at clinics and get results within 36 hours.
If negative, they can be used for travel, according to a statement from Collinson Group, which is working with Singapore Airlines on the programme.

JAKARTA: The Indonesian airline Garuda started administering free coronavirus vaccinations to holidaymakers and travellers on Wednesday, part of efforts to reduce the impact of the virus in one of Asia’s worst-affected countries.
About 20 passengers took advantage of the free shots on the opening day of the programme on Wednesday at Soekarno-Hatta International airport, which has the capacity to vaccinate 200 domestic travellers per day.
“This vaccine gives me confidence but still, we have to obey health protocol because we’re not 100% immune. But at least it gives a sense of calm,” said Cecep Taufiqurohman, 32, after receiving his vaccine.
KUALA LUMPUR (July 27): Loss-making in-flight catering services provider Brahim's Holdings Bhd has engaged MHC Trading (M) Sdn Bhd to manage and operate its wholly-owned subsidiary Tamadam Industries Sdn Bhd's business in warehouse rental, bonded warehousing, freight forwarding and transportation services for a period of up to three years. This follows a proposal received from MHC, which is involved in retail sale of food products, to help turn around and grow the business of Tamadam. "The proposed outsourcing will allow for a business turnaround of Tamadam, which is presently operating below its optimal level. More importantly, the proposed outsourcing will provide Brahim's with a solution to its outstanding loan position with OCBC Al-Amin Bank Bhd, for which it does not have the financial capacity to service at this juncture," said Brahim's in a bourse filing today. Tamadam today entered into an agreement with MHC for the proposed outsourcing. Under the deal, MHC will be fully responsible for all investments required by Tamadam including plans for expansion and revamp. In return, a management fee of RM50,000 will be remunerated on a monthly basis from the day of signing until expiry or termination of the agreement to be paid to MHC. "Profits generated from Tamadam will initially be used for the repayment of Brahim's overdue loan with OCBC amounting to RM75 million based on the stipulated repayment schedule within three years, and subsequently to be divided between MHC and Brahim's on a 60:40 basis," said
