I am looking to buy. Like the potential growth into new markets, good dividend yields, net cash etc. Biggest fear right now is foreign funds, as they have been selling, and have significant holding in this stock. What if they accelerate their selling? For now watching.
if you browse their top 30 shareholders, you can barely find any shariah compliance funds. the key shareholding is still with foreign funds. as long as they do not lock profit heavily in a short period, the price should be quite stagnant for the time being buoyed by the slightly negative sentiment and results which did not meet most people's expectation. look at Padini, they took a beating from the shariah issue and the price almost doubled from their year low that time.
"The total cash allocated in the Company’s conventional Instruments amounting to 38.53% of the Total Assets of the Group in respect FYE 2016 has exceeded the benchmark of 33% cash over total assets ratio as determined by SC for Shariah Complaint Securities"
We can view the above statement in a different way. Panic people will see it as non-compliance. value investors will see it as having a healthy balance sheet with free cash flow. At the moment of this post, I just want to declare I own no shares of OT, this is just my personal observation. But I dun mind queue a bit lower for some bargain hunting :)
Last time I been short while worked in Yangon, that's no coca-cola and MCD, the brand I know is Popular and Chat-time. Nowadays, the local people can eat coca-cola and MCD, even Oldtown also start to expand over there. The environment in Yangon changed so fast, means there's huge potential business opportunity there. Wise decision, Oldtown.
