PETALING JAYA: Budget 2021, which will be tabled in November, will be expansionary though narrower than Budget 2020, with economists projecting a budget deficit of 4% to 6% next year.
The government, they said, would need to revitalise the economy with appropriate measures due to the uncertainties arising from the Covid-19 and the weak global economy, which has caused many nations to fall into recession.
The World Bank expects Malaysia’s fiscal deficit to gross domestic product (GDP) to widen to 7% this year, underpinned by increased expenditure and downward pressure on revenue. The government, however, expects the fiscal deficit to be at 5.8% to 6% this year.
Economists expect the government to look into some core areas to ensure Malaysia is on the right track to achieve economic sustainability post-pandemic.
Socio-Economic Research Centre executive director Lee Heng Guie told StarBiz that the federal government is torn between managing a tight fiscal space and keeping the country’s sovereign rating intact.
"In our view, the government should go for another year of fiscal deficit targeted at public spending and programmes as well as the provision of tax incentives and allowances to boost private investment, creating jobs and income.

The group is seeking to restructure approximately RM63.5 billion of debt and for any balance to be waived, ..... Ready to cough out more $$$ for LT investment.
A share consolidation occurs when a company decreases the number of shares it has on issue. This causes the share price to increase proportionally, so that the value of each shareholders' holding remains unchanged relative to the market capitalisation of the company. - From Google...
Poor lenders and minority SHs. Rich management and bod, and of course all the professionals engaged. Consolidation, sound good, lol. Better term it as capital reduction, and alone is insufficient, massive cash call is required so that everyone can still fly.
Wow, record history lowest @0.045 ! Who wanted to buy AAX can sailang now... This is the golden opportunity once in your life time to become a wealthy person !
Pls be patient, wait until the completion of the capital reduction of 10 become 1,just like NETX 25 become 1,after price drop from rm0. 25 to now RM 0.14, then subscribe for right issue with free warrant...
Both AA & AAX have huge bad debts couple with now everyone can't fly due to Covid 19 pandemic. Anytime soon the price will further and another round of doping after share consolidation. Happy trading....
I'm confused. I was looking at airasia X annual report from last year, they had less than 10b liabilities. like 6 borrowings. How did that suddenly balloon to 63.5b debt???
if the creditors don't agree to waive it's debts, it is indeed DEAD. ... currently AAX has several billion assets, and AAX is trying to tell the creditors to accept RM200m instead of the full 63.5b they owe. ... If I was the creditor, I would insist on liquidation, and pay me back whatever I can get. why would I take that 200m deal when liquidation would net me SO much more?
@jasonred79....currently AAX has several billion assets ? you are pulling my leg !!! AAX is a shell, no asset, all aircrafts are leased; make used by AA to park major portion of its its bad debts. The building in KLIA is financed bank loan by AA but again AA is also in debts by billions. Both AAX and AA are in multi-billions of debts. How the auditors didn't qualify these over the years.
Guys, the only way to pay back creditors is to issue them private placement shares and right issue with free warrant after capital reduction of 10 shares consolidate into 1 share...
Airline stock is a different kind class of asset. Huge Debt is accept as a norm bcos each plane is very expensive. As long as the Co., generate positive Cash flow, each plane will be replaced by another newer plane and live goes On until Bursa no longer exit ( end of world ).
Covid is Airline Cash killer....one year without Cash, aax is dead on arrival.
If aax kaput, AA, Tony & Kama, Tune will receive a Mega shock. Most likely atleast ONE will declare a Bankrupt given the number of aax shares in their Holdings
sorry to say this but if you go to a photocopying shop to xerox 1 piece of paper, it'll be worth Rm 0.20 per piece of A4 sized paper... u need 5 units of AAX to be equal to a piece of xerox-ed paper.. imagine that guys and let it sink deep for a while
