Malakoff Corp Bhd’s 65-35 owned indirect special purpose vehicles with Touch Meccanica Sdn Bhd — Batu Bor Hidro Sdn Bhd (BBH) and Lubuk Paku Hidro Sdn Bhd (LPH) — have won the Feed-in Tariff small hydropower tender through the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of Malaysia (SEDA).

They will consequently enter a renewable energy power purchase agreement with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for small hydropower projects located in peninsular Malaysia for 21 years. BBH would have an installed capacity of 30 megawatts (MW) while LPH is granted with 25MW

Doesnt really look good now especially with new govern as the long term contract might be review and change... And with the focus placed on people spending, more tariff will be placed on power output which mean declining profit in the future!!

The electrical cut have to come where... normally it will be park at supplier operation cost (tariff).
Secondly, Tenaga had increased their capacity with their new plant!!! That being said, the existing contract with Malakoff might be impacted with lower purchase price which mean profit cut!!

Anyway, this could be a strategy or psychology play. When people say this is bad/con counter, it probably scare away those naive one or investors who doesn't bother doing homework.
