Valuation wise, its just as expensive as Tenaga at 12x EV/EBIT.

Is malakoff so fantastic valuation should be same as tenaga ah.

I disagree it has no value. The earning is okay. It has dividend every quarter. I think some one is creating volatile, so malakof has to buy back share, because under value.

Its not a matter of business but the price you pay.

Overpay for a good business, and it will turn into a bad investment.

Question now is this, is utilities prices in general depressed, or should malakoff valuation be even lower.

93 sen is a bargain. Even if it touches 1.03 is 10 sen made. Should go in. It's almost at 50% discount.

To go back to 1.80, I don't think it is even possible in short term, it is too late for Malakoff management to take measurement only now. For the last few weeks I found the trading trend is weird.Personally I think the price now is very attractive, even if it is price at 1.40 - 1.50.

I think fair value for malakoff is around 90 sen or so. Unless the utilities industry is undervalued in general. in which case tenaga, malakoff, ranhill and pba are all undervalued.

Buying at 50% discount is a good deal. The stock may look like rubbish now but the company has good fundamentals. It won't rebound in a short term but he who has the power and patience to hold will benefit on long run.
