In my previous post, I was expecting RM 120-130m revenue this quarter, and perhaps RM 6-9m profit... Solarvest report RM60m and RM 5m of revenue n profit.

Revenue already start dropping by 40% qoq... Management says: "The decrease in revenue was due to most of the large scale solar projects had reached near completion." exactly my thesis. LSS 2 completion will leave a big gap on revenue.

As a matter of fact, I'd think that they maybe can record higher sales this quarter (they completed LSS2 in Dec if not mistaken) but prob trying to even out the FY 2020 numbers so not to pressure themself for next year.

Orderbook at RM 145m while market cap above RM 510m... PE above 30x.

Also agree with hazli post - recent politic is a risk to solarvest.

Just becareful if you trade this counter. Cheers.

For solar business, revenue is irrelevant, just profit.
There are 2 types high margin is when commercial and residential install.
During every year end ,government will tender "solar farm" projects, which are super high revenue however super low margin. which is why 100 mil revenue for previous quarter and 60mil in this quarter profits are the same.
With the tax deduction of 48% incentive many companies will install solar. They will have good earnings till 2023.

@ruby nowadays most trader/investor no longer looked into the company business or its fundamental like what you did. People wanna earn quick buck, all speculate on feel good story. As you can see blue chip is down but mid and small cap is up by quite alot this year.

I believe cause many had not experience a crash or for the experience one they have forgotten what a crash feel like. Low interest rate and high liquidity is creating euphoria in the mid/small cap.sector. Also a lot of newbie that never got burn before.

Newbie128 I agree, hence why I always say slvest is good for traders, but not for those who think this is one for long term. Not yet anyway.

Pinpin, I also agree wf u, although I must say that their LSS 2 deal was pretty good. If not mistaken they get Usd1 per W of energy. That’s a pretty healthy margin for LSS. I hope u r right and they can close more deals with good margin. But the industry is competitive, even in that space.

Solar panel price hike and higher usd rate will negatively impact solarvest. A disruption in supply chain could also mean they will have issue obtaining solar panel

Solarvest is considerably well positioned to weather the above mentioned short term challenges in due to their cemented position in the industry. Being the only listed Solar EPCC , they are better funded and have an edge over the competition with - economies of scale which equates to better bargaining power, and the ability to offer more competitive terms. As the scale of solar projects continues to increase, the average startup wouldnt have the means to finance such projects.

While in the short term there may be price war, there will always be consolidation and our view is that Solarvest is well primed to weather such uncertainties.

While many would want you to think that prices of solar panels are going up, it should also be considered that the Malaysian Solar market being just a few hundred MW a year industry would benefit from a huge vacuum in demand with deployments in China being at a standstill . ( China was a 30GW = 30,000MW market in 2019 )

While the smaller and newly incorporated EPC's would have a very tough time getting prioritized, Solarvest is in a good negotiating position to further lower down their costs, taking advantage of the current situation.

The contrarian view from my team of analysts is that with the 1400MW slated to be launched through the stimulus package, Solarvest is entering it's next phase of boom and growth!

These pattern actually played by sharks. All goreng pattern. This kind of stocks are good only for speculators. Not for genuine investors. So just be careful with your hard earn money.
