Bursa has not experience bull market for 2 months now. Retail players however indeed enjoyed great returns from selected counters lately. DJIA hope to close 100 points and above today. Let's hope for all round bullish sentinments like 4th quarter 2013. Fundamental are much better, sentiment should be better. Happy trading. Watchout for fast gain WTK

IPO: Ranhill Energy - will be listed on Bursa Malaysia via a RTO of Symphony House Bhd after aborting its IPO. Current controlling shareholder of Ranhill, Tan Sri Azman Yahya will buy over the businesses of Synphony, leaving a listed Shell for Ranhill to buy over.
M&A: The feasibility of the tycoon Tan Sri Halim Saad’s takeover proposal for PLUS have been questioned. Among others the credibility of the parties behind the transaction, the price offer & the ability to finance the transaction were raised.
Family members of the 227 passengers on board MH370 could claim as much as USD175,000 for every passenger even if the jet is not located as airlines are liable under the Montreal Convention of 1999. MAS’ liability could come close to USD40mil and if found guilty of negligence family members can sue for more. CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said that he would decide later whether to resign.
Today’s Market Preview: Lifted by better investors’ confidence, Wall Street climbed overnight as its major equity bellwethers posted gains of between 0.2% and 0.6% at the closing bell. Nonetheless, we reckon our Malaysian bourse will probably show a fairly sluggish performance ahead. Following a sudden rise just before market close yesterday, the key FBM KLCI could give back all its 3.3-point gains and possibly more today. Essentially, the benchmark index is expected to struggle to overcome the immediate resistance hurdle of 1,840 for the time being.
Meanwhile, against a broadly quiet market backdrop, there may be a bit more interest today in stocks like: (a) Milux Corp, which has proposed multiple corporate exercises involving a 1-into-2 share split, a 4-for-5 rights issue at an indicative issue price of RM0.50 together with free detachable warrants (on the basis of 1 warrant for every rights share subscribed after the share split) as well as a diversification into the iron ore business; (b) Fitters, after signing an MOU to explore a joint venture for pipes and fittings for waterworks and buildings in SEA; and (c) Paramount, as it plans to acquire a piece of land measuring 31 acres in Penang mainland for RM67m. - HwangDBS
