Many great investors of our time describe that being successful in investing does not come from having a high IQ (Scientists would all be billionaires). Ordinary intelligence is fine, but you must have the right temperament.
tem·per·a·ment
a person's or animal's nature, esp. as it permanently affects their behavior
Temperament refers to a person's characteristics or traits, and closely related to behaviorial thinking and psychology. In investing, this refers to your thought processes, hypotheses, facts & reasoning etc.
This mean if we can have a better understanding of how we think and how we behave irrationally, we can use this to our advantage and improve our decision making. In investing term, that means increase the odds in our favor. Irrational behavior is nothing new, we all can be irrational at time, this forum is never short of these people, when someone can tell you precisely how much the share price would be tomorrow.
If you are interested in behavioral economics you can check out a free course
here at Coursera. This is a fee course offered by Duke University and Dan Ariely is the instructor. Dan Ariely is the author for Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality and The Honest Truth about Dishonesty. Some of the books were New York Bestseller. So this course is definitely worth the weight of gold. Talk about value and price.
You can find more information on the webpage, just need to sign up and enrol in the course. 8 week course. Enjoy!
