KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 18): Engineering services provider AWC Bhd (KL:AWC) has secured a RM48.57 million contract to provide facilities management and maintenance services at Menara Seri Wilayah in Putrajaya.

The contract was awarded by the Putrajaya Public Works Department (JKR) to AWC’s wholly owned subsidiary, Ambang Wira Facilities Sdn Bhd, said the company in the filing to Bursa Malaysia.

AWC said the five-year contract will run from Dec 12, 2024, to Dec 11, 2029, and it expects the contract to contribute positively to its earnings throughout the 60-month tenure.

AWC's order book has now exceeded RM700 million, including the latest contract win, with its tender book remaining healthy at over RM1 billion across all business divisions, AWC said in a statement.

"Year-to-date, our order book replenishment has surpassed RM160 million, with the facilities division securing approximately RM90 million in job wins," it added.

In October, the company won two contracts: a RM9.4 million deal from JKR Melaka for facilities management at the Sungai Melaka immigration complex and a RM30.5 million contract from KCJ Engineering Sdn Bhd for housekeeping services at JB Sentral in Johor Bahru.

Two months ago, AWC was awarded a RM19.9 million contract from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for water and sewerage services for a data centre project in Selangor in September. In August, the company clinched a RM10.2 million plumbing and installation contract for UEM Land’s multi-block serviced apartment development.

Prior to that, AWC secured a RM8.7 million supply contract from KTMB in July for mono-block wheels, and in April, it won two contracts worth a combined RM19.39 million for plumbing projects at Hospital Kapar and a Cyberjaya data centre.

At the start of the year, AWC was also awarded an RM8.19 million contract in January for facility management services at Suasana PJH, Putrajaya, by Gilang Cendana, a subsidiary of Putrajaya Holdings.

Shares of AWC gained 2.5 sen or 2.91% at 88.5 sen on Monday, valuing the company at RM298.9 million. Year-to-date, the stock has risen over 40.5%. However, it has been on the downward trend since mid-July, retreating from the year’s high of RM1.34.
