KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 23): Bursa Malaysia Bhd (KL:BURSA) said on Monday that it is currently embarking on the succession of its chief executive officer Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift through its nomination and remuneration committee.
“Bursa Malaysia has in place a talent development and succession plan which considers both internal and external candidates as potential future leaders of the company,” Bursa Malaysia said in a filing.
The company did not elaborate further.
The statement follows a report by The Edge Malaysia weekly in its Dec 23-29, 2024 issue that Umar is considering leaving the exchange operator and that his position could be taken over by Datuk Fad’l Mohamed, the current managing director of group wholesale banking at RHB Bank Bhd (KL:RHBBANK).
