China zero Covid policy
China has moved quickly to suppress demonstrations that erupted across the country over the weekend, deploying police forces at key protest sites and tightening online censorship.
The protests were sparked by anger over the country’s increasingly costly zero-Covid policy, but as numbers swelled at demonstrations in multiple major cities, so too have the range of grievances voiced – with some calling for greater democracy and freedom.
Among the thousands of protesters, hundreds have even called for the removal of Chinese leader Xi Jinping, who for nearly three years has overseen a strategy of mass-testing, brute-force lockdowns, enforced quarantine and digital tracking that has come at a devastating human and economic cost.
Rishi Sunak warns of end of ‘golden era’ between UK and China after ‘authoritarian’ crackdown on protesters
The Prime Minister defended anti-government protesters in China, who took to the streets to campaign against the strict Covid-19 lockdown rules. China’s crackdown on protesters showed the “authoritarian” state poses an “acute” challenge to British “values and interests”, Rishi Sunak has said.
Speaking at the Lord Mayor’s Banquet the Prime Minister defended anti-Government protesters in China, who took to the streets to campaign against the strict Covid-19 lockdown rules.
He criticised the decision of President Xi’s Government to “crack down further, including by assaulting a BBC journalist” rather than “listening to their people’s protests”.
Rishi Sunak should open his eyes to see the number of Covid 19 cases in each country around the world for comparison. USA is 1st has the most cases 101 million, India is 2nd has 45 million, UK is 9th has 24 million, Malaysia is 27th has 5 million and China is 103th has only 315,000 cases.
Based on Sunak’s criticism, he cannot be better than Liz Truss and Boris Johnson.
China considers human lives are more than making money. That is why China wants to implement its zero Covid policy.

Do you know how many people have died in China because of Zero-Covid policy ? In fact there are more people died (of other illness) due to unable or delay in obtaining proper medical treatment than the death due to Covid in China in 2022. Zero-Covid policy is good in 2020 but is no longer suitable now.
2022-11-29 18:41
medical treatments are expensive in China and medical facilities are highly insufficient in China's villages due to affordability . China still implements Zero-Covid policy because most of old people refuses vaccination especially those in villages . old people is the age group that is prone to succumb to covid 19.

How long more can they lock down? Easy for someone to support zero covid if they are rich and powerful, the poor and middle class are the one that suffers. lock down and restaurant owner need to throw away food, cannot hire new people, etc....
if china own vaccine is not good enough,, just admit and buy from pifzer,

How a ‘forgotten,’ 110-day lockdown sparked China’s nationwide COVID protests
A deadly fire in a region locked down since August ignited rare demonstrations of dissent across China.

Chinese commemorated lives lost in a deadly apartment fire in Ürümqi, in China's Xinjiang region. The gathering at times escalated into broader protests against COVID-zero restrictions.
Please KYY use your better judgement to think for yourself is 110 days lockdown an answer to outdated zero covid policy. Just imagine what will happen if Malaysia will to lockdown for 110 days.

The zero covid policy that required regular covid testing actually cause covid outbreak
Xinjiang officials admitted they failed to control the outbreak, blaming the new BA.5.2 variant and too-loose control measures. The province’s vice chairman even suggested to state media that regular COVID testing might have spread the disease due to poor protocols by testing staff.

Enough....enough....enough of lockdown loh!

Imagine locking down entire cities, the entire nation just because of a flu epidemic. It makes sense to lock down the first one (5% mortality rate, higher for those with comorbidity). Locking down because of Omicron BA versi 5 makes them looks silly. But hey, it's their choice (or more accurately, it's His choice).
Justifying zero-covid just because the old people refuse to take vaccine is a pretty weak argument. They can force people in their apartments for months, sometimes without food or medicine. They can require people to take a PCR test every day or two just to go to work or to buy groceries. But they can't 'persuade' old people to take their jab for their own good? Very interesting. Like I said, their choice.

UK PM is an Indian. What is this Indian so concerned how China treats Covid pandemic? Clearly this Indian is interfering with China internal affair. Any damages due to China retaliation is self-inflicted.

Lesson No 1. You should never trust the numbers out from China. They never tell you the truth.

The Chinese people will decide for themselves if the Covid Zero policy is what they want and they decided NO . Thus the riots and change in government policy . It is not right for anyone outside to comment .

I opine Sunak of UK PM's interference (or rather criticize) the zero covid policy is just to deviate the attention of UK's citizens on his failure to revitalize the country economic whilst inflation is at all time high. Secondly, he might be executing agendas as expected by his big brother US (ie. the usual western anti-China policy/propaganda).

..China is just to arrogant to not to accept well founded vaccines that are successfully used around the world... hence the people suffer, it's not just about money.. the forever zero covid does not make sense! EGO is the word.
