On 7 October 2023, Hamas and several other Palestinian militant groups launched coordinated armed incursions from the Gaza Strip into the Gaza envelope of southern Israel. The Israeli retaliated with much more firing power. As a result, the stock market plunged as shown below: AL-QUDS Index plunged to 538.39.

Palestinian health authorities say Israel's ground and air campaign in Gaza has killed more than 35,000 people, mostly civilians, and driven most of the enclave's 2.3 million people from their homes. 

The Palestine Exchange (PEX) is a stock exchange based in Nablus, operating under the supervision of the Palestinian Capital Market Authority (CMA). As of now, 48 companies are listed on the PEX, with a total market capitalization of approximately $3 billion across five main sectors: financial services, insurance, investments, industry, and services.

How I started investing in Hong Kong?

The British sold opium to the Chinese and many Chinese were so badly addicted that the Chinese Government banned the opium trade. The British sent warships to attack Shanghai. The First Opium War, also known as the Anglo-Chinese War, took place between 1839 and 1842. It involved military engagements between the British Empire and the Qing dynasty of China. China was badly defeated and ceded Hong Kong to the British for 100 years.

In 1983 when China gave notice to the British for the return of Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Stock Market index plunged to below 1,000. I read all these news from the Financial Times while I was recouping after my open heart by-pass surgery in Harley Street Clinic, London.

As soon as I was discharged from the hospital, I flew to Hong Kong to search for good listed companies for investment and I made a lot of money. The rest is history.

My purpose for writing this article is to point out the good opportunity to invest in Palestine as United States has proposed a cease fire in Gaza.
