I came across this powerful and thought provoking piece. It made me pause in my tracks to reflect on life. I began thinking long and hard about what in life that really matters to me.

In our pursuit of financial freedom it is easy to fall into the trap of working harder and harder to create more, at the expense of the more important things in life.

So, what are things in life that truly matters?

Health : physical, mental, emotional, spiritual health.

Love : family, relationship, loved ones, friends.

Happiness : not in a cliché sense. But about living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.

The absolutely devastating part of this illness is it is a very lonely way to be very sick. You remain separated from family and friends. I know of families who lost loved ones due to Covid19. The grief is overwhelming. The wife and children are placed in quarantine and not allowed to be together with their loved one in the last moments. The quarantine measures prevented them from saying goodbye in person. Even then, nobody comes to the funeral. For the most part, funerals are not for the people who died. They’re for the people who remain. Covid19 not only robbed loved ones, but it has stolen the ability to mourn for them.

So be grateful for what we have.  Love one another.

Stay safe everybody.
