I AM a Malaysian living in Australia who contributed to Tabung Harapan, the fund set up from May 2018 to January
2019 to help the government to pay down the national debt. I have the following questions which need answers from the Finance Ministry.
Out of the more than RM200mil collected by Jan 14, as announced by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, what was paid to reduce the national debt, which the minister claimed at one point stood at RM1tril?
Contingent liability does not go on the face of the balance sheet.
Please publish what was collected and what was paid in all major mainstream newspapers. Numbers don’t lie.
I think these are reasonable requests.
