PRIME Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called upon China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC) and Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) to ensure collaboration with local and Bumiputera contractors, consultants, and suppliers in the construction of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the ECRL Gombak Integrated Terminal station today, Anwar addressed several concerns particularly those related to the project’s operations and maintenance.

“The Chief Secretary Tan Sri Zuki Ali, met with CCCC and MRL yesterday (June 18) to emphasise the importance of addressing and planning for operations and maintenance issues,” he stated.

“One of the major flaws of these large mega projects is ensuring that the maintenance of these monumental projects is carried out efficiently, without disrupting progress.” - June 19, 2024
