With so much uncertainties in domestic and international arena, nothing like the certainties of exporters who are the true National heroes of Malaysia earning foreign exchange everyday.
There may be reasons to avoid plastics and gloves exporters in view of higher oil prices. These companies benefited enormously in 2015 from the twin effects of weaker ringgit and lower oil prices.
So, I choose to focus on export companies using domestic resources unaffected by oil and final products exported. The companies chosen below also do not have to buy raw materials in foreign currencies and are therefore minimumly affected by the recent BNM policy on foreign currency conversions.
My recommended export shares
Lihen
Consistent performer, high dividend yield, significant boost to bottom line in Dec quarter results. TTM PE 7.7
Focus Lumber
Disappointing quarter due to missed shipments but will rebound strongly in coming quarter. TTM PE 7.7
Latutude
Strong Sept quarter, expects even stronger Dec quarter TTM PE 7.2
MagniTech
Strong Oct quarter, expects even stronger Jan quarter Another high dividend yield stock. TTM PE 7.2
Best wishes and happy making money.

for woods export, 2 worries
1. 75% currency conversion by bnm will affect export in usd
2. US under trump will promote buy furniture made from USA

there are no rubber trees, no tropical trees to compete with our furniture makers.

I think your world view is like a frog inside the well
See this

Trump has stated that the stupid limitations by previous Govt with its restraining laws will be done away!
Trump will unleash the US$53 Trillion shale oil deposits in USA.
These surplus shale oil might even hit rubber gloves export if USA go big time into Nitrile Glove (Made from crude or shale oil)
And for furniture?
USA has lots of pine, birch, oak, maple, ash, bassword, rosewood & others
See

Trump if he wants to encourage US wood furniture manufactures might even allow trees to be used from US National Parks

"Unreasonable" sometimes is because we DO NOT KNOW the real reason.
SHOULDN'T BUY when drop at "Unreasonable" reason. Must try the best to find out the reason. Else this is called, Blindly BUY. Avoid REAL REASON comes, not able to run.
So my thought is not agree with the blogger, personally. No right or wrong to others.
