Dato' Sri Yap Ngan Choy has more than 40 years of experience in property development and property related business. Dato' Sri Yap started his career as a tiling contractor. In 1985, he ventured into the construction industry by setting up his own company which specializes in tiling works. In 1997, he had further established a construction company. Among the tiling and construction projects that were successfully completed under him included multiple notable projects for hotels, condominiums, housing commercial hubs and complexes, the Prime Minister's office and residence in Putrajaya as well as various government projects across Malaysia. In 2008, he ventured into property development and had successfully rehabilitated various abandoned projects with the major ones being Bandar Salak Perdana which was one of the largest abandoned projects in Malaysia at that time and was completed and handed over to owners in 2014. In 2012, he further embarked on the rehabilitation of another abandoned project which was revived into the Ion Delemen development in Genting Highlands. Collectively, he has completed development projects with an estimated aggregate gross development value of approximately RM1.0 billion. He is also a shareholder and Director of several private limited companies which are principally involved in property development.
