Almost all the right issues in Bursa companies are to bail out poorly managed companies.

For the not so knowledgeable, avoid right issues (level 1 thinking).

For the knowledgeable, also avoid right issues, except for a few companies. (Please apply level 2 thinking.)

Why is calvin, raider and his friends NOT buying at 1 sen?

It should be obvious:

1. They think this stock is overvalued.
2. They think this stock will drop lower.
3. They never believe in their own valuation of this stock, it was for speculating and not for investing.
4. They realise that many were not fooled by their promotions and therefore stopped buying, lest they get into bigger loss positions.

There is only 1 reason for buying a stock.

Yes, and that is because I feel the price is lower than its intrinsic value, it is cheap and it will go up in the long run (5 to 10 years from today).

Indonesia

Lesson: When you do not do enough tests, the number of infected cases are low, but this is disproportionate to the number of deaths from the same infection.

Malaysia

Lesson: The flattening of the curve the last few days is a relief to many. Many in the social media are asking how many tests were done each day. If not many tests were done, you may not pick up the big rises that are already in the community. So, the difference between the trajectory of Italy and that of Malaysia maybe interpreted with caution:
1. Malaysia has managed to curtail the rise of Covid-19 cases (flattening the curve).
2. Malaysia did not do as many tests compared to Italy and the number of new cases did not reflect the true rise in the number of new cases.

The State of Long Term Expectations

 Speculation … forecasting the psychology of the market
 Enterprise … forecasting the prospective return of assets
over their whole life.
 Speculators may do no harm as bubbles on a steady
stream of enterprise. But the position is serious when
enterprise becomes the bubble on a whirlpool of
speculation. When the capital development of a
country becomes a by-product of the activities of a
casino, the job is likely to be ill-done.

Keynes' Memorandum for the Estates Committee,
Kings College Cambridge, 1938

 I am clear that the idea of wholesale shifts is for various reasons
[impractical] and indeed undesirable. Most of those who attempt it sell
too late and buy too late, and do both too often, incurring heavy
expenses and developing too unsettled and speculative a state of mind

 (1) a careful selection of a few investments...having regard to their
cheapness in relation to their probably actual and potential intrinsic
value over a period of years ahead and in relation to alternative
investments at the time;

 (2) a steadfast holding of these in fairly large units through thick and
thin, perhaps for several years, until either they have fulfilled their
promise or it is evident that they were purchased on a mistake;

 (3) a balanced investment position, i.e. a variety of risks in spite of
individual holdings being large, and if possible opposed risks (e.g. a
holding of gold shares amongst other equities, since they are likely to
move in opposite directions when there are general fluctuations).
