https://www.klsescreener.com/v2/news/view/704409/cgs-cimb-research-retains-overweight-on-glove-sector

“Based on our estimates, Top Glove’rubber gloves make up c.13% of the US’s total rubber glove imports.

“In our view, this will likely lead to a spike in demand for rubber gloves by other glove manufacturers as long as the detention order on both Top Glove’s subsidiaries is in effect. Hence, we believe glove makers under our coverage (ex- Top Glove) will benefit in terms of higher sales to the US, namely Hartalega, Kossan and Supermax.

did anyone calc just the OBM margin (minus the OEM), ie the own distributor margin contribution? From the analyst briefing table it appears 40USD/1000 gloves....

isnt that pure profit above the OEM suppliers?

5 billion gloves per qtr means, 800M/qtr contribution?

who knows...it could be that the 'distributor margin' which will be more resilient in the long run....meaning supermax share price has all the reasons to overtake TG like sifu freetospeak said

Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the United States, is concerned that the potential vaccine for the new crown virus may be "poorly durable". He believes that the new crown vaccine may not provide long-term immunity.

According to a CNBC report on the 2nd, Anthony Fauci was interviewed by Professor Howard Bauchner, editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and pointed out that if the new coronavirus is like other coronaviruses in the past, then the new coronavirus vaccine The duration of immunization will not be very long, and the validity period can only last for six months or one year.

https://www.malaymail.com/news/money/2019/09/06/supermax-us-china-trade-war-benefits-local-rubber-glove-industry/1787942

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 — Rubber gloves manufacturer, Supermax Corporation Bhd, is expecting its exports to increase to 40 per cent from the current 30 per cent, boosted by sales of medical gloves due to the ongoing United States (US)-China trade war.

Founder and president Datuk Seri Stanley Thai Kim Sim said this was because the US government had imposed a 15 per cent tariff on medical gloves made in China starting from September 1.

“The US-China trade war has and will continue to disrupt the global supply chain, and this augurs well for the company,” he told a media briefing after announcing the company’s full year results here today.

Thai said Malaysia is one of the countries benefiting from the trade tiff between the two economic giants.

He also said that Supermax’s industrial glove market — which currently accounts for about 10 per cent of its total exports — is also set to grow as non-medical gloves made in China have also been slapped with a 25 per cent import duty by the US government back in January 1, 2019.

“This is an unfortunate event but it also created an opportunity for Malaysian manufacturers to increase their market presence in the US,” he said.

Airlines will even provide FOC gloves for every passenger that is boarding.....just 1 case of infection on any flight is enough to require this to be compulsory procedure worldwide.

Further, note that WHO had just declared that the virus is Airborne.

It will be a painfully difficult task for the airlines to manage risk of infections within plane.

May be only solutions like the below from Supermax will help the airlines:

"Before COVID-19, we were running (at) about 80 to 85 per cent capacity. Now we are running more than 100 per cent. Though we add in new capacity, we are still not able to cope with the demand; the demand is just too strong, ” he said.

"So we hope the government will open up (the recruitment process) so that we can reduce the shortage of workers. So hopefully, by Sept 1, after the MCO is over.”

According to the company, the lead time to fulfill orders for gloves was now more than a year - which means if someone ordered gloves today, it would take over a year before the shipment arrives at its destination. Prior to the pandemic, the lead time was between 10 to 60 days.

https://news.yahoo.com/acknowledges-virus-may-airborne-200525333.html

The World Health Organization is now saying coronavirus may be spread through the air more easily than previously believed, lingering longer and moving for further distances between people in an aerosol form.

After hundreds of scientists pled with the agency to consider the evidence in an open letter over the weekend.

If true, it could change how governments have been fighting the virus, including the one and two-meter separation rule many countries adopted for social distancing.

This was the WHO's technical lead for controlling the pandemic, Benedetta Allegranzi, in news conference on Tuesday (July 7):

"We acknowledge that there is emerging evidence in this field, as in all other fields regarding the COVID-19 virus and pandemic and therefore we believe that we have to be open to this evidence and understand its implications regarding the modes of transmission and also regarding the precautions that need to be taken."

The WHO was quick to say that the evidence is not final and they're expected to put out their most recent findings in coming days.

Australia's second-biggest city under new virus lockdown

https://news.yahoo.com/australias-second-biggest-city-under-virus-lockdown-062814187.html

After the south-eastern city detected 191 new cases in 24 hours, Andrews said there were now too many incidents of the virus to trace and track.

"These are unsustainably high numbers," he said. "No-one wanted to be in this position. I know there will be enormous amounts of damage that will be done because of this. It will be very challenging."

Most school students will return to remote learning while restaurants and cafes will be limited to serving takeaway food.

"There is simply no alternative other than thousands and thousands of cases and potentially more," he told reporters.
