KUALA LUMPUR (August 27): IHH Healthcare Bhd reported a 61% drop in second quarter net profit from a year earlier as revenue fell. Profit and revenue had fallen as the hospital operator registered gains from the sale of medical suites at its Parkway Pantai hospitals a year earlier.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, IHH said net profit fell to RM156.76 million in the quarter ended June 30, 2013 (2QFY13) from RM398.9 million. Revenue declined to RM1.68 billion from RM2.69 billion.

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia X Bhd has inked an agreement to lease airplanes to Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudi Air) for 14 months.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Air Asia X said it would lease airplanes to Saudi Air from Sept 1 this year until Nov 30 next year for US$17.98 million (RM59.3 million).

I think these days Gtronics gained a lot of spot light on profitability and div in 2012/2013 was good for investors.
i would be cautious on semicond stock. ...LED biz has grown a lot and the profit margin going down as any electronic biz. I afraid very soon the cost cutting will start to move up stream that eroded the profit. This is not a defensive stock where if market goes down the price may not sustaining.
Moving fwd people is expecting world market to be bearish with QE exist by end of the year and foreign fund pulling out so some may hold the opinion that Gtronics has reach its peak and may going downwards in coming few months.
It could be best approach is to take profit now and wait for next best entry timing.
As of now i dont see much excitment in this share price after the annoucement of latest div. This morning it in fact dropping...
Cannot really compare a shoplot with stock as two different thing.
However as rule of thumb properties are more on appreciating value if purchase on good location. The rental income is more stable compare to stock dividen which you never know what is the next profit even if the policy is 50% DPO. Market fluctuates. How much a hphone cost 5 years ago compare to today? rite.

SP Setia confident to exceed RM5.5bil sales target

KUALA LUMPUR: Property developer, SP Setia Bhd, is confident of exceeding its sales target of RM5.5bil in new property sales for financial year ending Oct 31, 2013.

Chief executive officer, Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, said currently, the company has thirty-four projects with gross development value (GDV) of RM70bil and unbilled progress sales close to RM9bil.

The company's sales as of June this year were RM4.68bil which were not far from the target for this year, he said: "We have done very well this year. We are two months to closing of financial year, with the figures that we had so far we are confident to achieve more than what we have targeted," he said.

I would be disagree if you think buying a semicond stock is better than buying an actual shop to collect rental...business go up and down, the dividen is not guarantee, bro
