Don't believe anymore that TauRx can have a positive impact on Genting's share price. Just over two months ago, Maybank IB recommended a buy on Genting in view of its involvement in the life science sector via TauRx Pharmaceuticals. Many small investors have been caught at over RM5 and are now licking their wounds.

@Noni, you buy a counter that hasn't gone up much, not counters like Simeprop, E&O, SPSetia, MRCB, Ecoworld etc that have gone up by 100 to 200%. How much more can a counter that has risen by 200% go up? If you have invested in these counters, time to switch.

You were 100% sure it would open at RM5 on Monday. I am not so confident, would only buy a couple of thousand shares at RM4.60 or below.

Still not expensive considering that its NTA is 38 sen a share and eps should exceed 1 sen this year.

HLIB's tp for Genting is RM7.12, 56% higher than its present price. I am on cloud 9 if Genting could go up by just 25%.

Has gone up too fast and too far. Have advised friends to take profit and switch to Maybank.

Those who had bought RHB Bank at its peak just over two years ago at RM6.30 are still licking their wounds. Those who had bought Maybank or CIMB bank at their peaks two year ago have already made more than 25%, including the dividends.

The KLCI has gone up by at least 10% over the past one year or so but RHB Bank remains stagnant at around RM5.50. Really pathetic.

Cannon Tan, you can't compare Kelvin Tan with Robert Kuok. Robert is worth over US$ 12 billion+. Kelvin is worth less than 1% of Robert.

Investors haven't given this company a high valuation. It made over 23 sen a share in 2021 and declared a final dividend of 14 sen a share but its share price only went as high as around RM1.80 only.

Just go through the company's annual reports. All the information is there. It took me less than 10 minutes to gather the info. It shows more and more small investors are getting frustrated with the company.

I have a gut feeling that this counter is moving up soon. I hope I am right.

More than 10% return in just two months, not a bad investment. Much much better than my investments in RHB Bank.

Buy some more if it drops to below RM5.30 again. At RM5.30, the PE would be around 8.1 and the dividend yield over 7.5%.

Many loss making property counters are much higher than L&G. Safe to invest in L&G at the current price.

With the restructuring of EPF members' accounts, you can expect another wave of withdrawals. EPF should need the dividends from RHB.

Genting is neither a pretty good company nor is it doomed. At below RM4.50, I think it is worth taking some risk.

Ten years ago, Keck Seng had 9161 shareholders while those holding more than 100,000 shares held some 78.5% of its shareholdings. 5 years ago, the number of shareholders had decreased to 8032 while those holding more than 100,000 shares had increased their control of the company to 80.7%. Last year, its total shareholders further decreased to 6739 while those holding over 100,000 shares had increased their stakes to 83.1%.

I have queued to buy at 12.5 sen for a few days but without success.

Investors buy a counter for various reasons. Keck Seng investors are eyeing its grossly undervalue assets, the vast majority of which have not been revalued since the early 80s.

@Ontime, if he was an oracle, then every investor should sell Genting now. I think he is just a naysayer.

I expect it to drop towards RM1.20 or even lower after ex dividend if its first quarter results are not as expected.

Buy Keck Seng, it will hit RM40 later!

No big fish around lately, volume still very low and price not moving up.

Persistent selling by EPF drove Tenaga's share price to dip below RM8 in early July 2022. Now aggressive buying by EPF since August last year is pushing up its share price to almost RM12.

i3gambler, with DRP, RHB Bank's total dividend payable this round would be reduced by RM430 million, assuming the take up rate was 100%. It would need to issue an additional 88 million shares to its shareholders but it has an additional RM430 million to spare which it can loan out to earn interest. Maybank has 13 billion shares on issue and Public Bank has almost 20 billion shares compared to RHB's 4.3 billion.
Suppose my total dividend this round was RM10,000. I would be allocated 4,000/4.88 or 833 additional new shares which I can dispose of now at RM5.50 a share for a total of RM4,581.5. With DRP, I have extra RM581.5 or 5.815% extra.

@i3gambler, someone who has bought RHB Bank at RM5.50 a share and did not take up the DRP shares allocated to him would have received total dividend amounting to RM400 a year. His dividend yield is 7.27%. Your argument is specious. I subscribed for all the DRP shares offered to me and I gain an extra couple of hundred Ringgit. I also bought my RHB Bank shares at an average price of about RM5.50. My dividend yield is therefore slightly higher than 7.27%.

RM1.40 resistance should be broken soon.

It has stayed at below 20 sen for around 6 years already. NTA is 38 sen a share. Time is ripe for it to move up and back to above 20 sen again.

Strong volume is normally associated with sharp price rise but we have seen strong volumes on quite a number of occasions without noticeable price increases over the past few months. Maybe the big boys haven't accumulated enough. Be patient, haha.

China's economy is about as big as the US's economy. Seizing China's foreign exchange reserves will also hurt the US badly as China has the ability to fight back on many fronts. Mindful of this eventuality, China has already reduced its US dollar holdings by about $400 billion over the past 6 to 7 years and increased its holdings in gold and other currencies. Anyway, there is absolutely no reason for the US to do such thing even if China were to attack Taiwan one day because it is basically an internal affair.

Some beggars have been caught with over RM10k in their pockets, some have been observed to dine in restaurants.
