Strong support, not likely to drop to 60 sen, let alone 55 sen.

I will keep my Genting rather than switching to Tenaga. Tenaga can't go up much further, already up 70% from its low point over 1 year ago.

CIMB bank's share price is now RM1.50 higher than RHB bank when the eps and dividend yields of both banks are about the same. Something is very wrong with RHB bank.

Never say can't buy TSH. Would consider buying if it drops to around 90 to 95 sen.

"See how Calvin invested in Pm Corp for 7 years to see great success"
You are lucky PM Corp didn't go bust during those 7 years. I had bought some of my Keck Seng shares around 30 years ago.

Tuah Pao Tan, TSH's share price has remained quite stagnant for the past two years, having fallen from around RM1.80 in March/April 2022. If you had bought Maybank, CIMB bank, UEMS, MRCB, Airport, Tenaga, YTL etc two years ago, you know how much money you would have made?
2024-06-03 15:33 | Report Abuse
Cannon Tan, TSH's first quarter profit only amounted to 1.46 sen a share. Unlikely to make more than 8 sen a share this year. Below RM1 is about the right price.

At RM5.49 a share, RHB Bank's dividend yield is 7.3%. Should its price rise to RM6 a share, then its yield drops to 6.67%. Should it go further up to RM8 a share, then its yield becomes 5% provided the dividend is maintained at 40 sen a share. At RM5 a share, its yield would rise to 8%. Dilution doesn't come into play here. I don't know why someone wants to make things so complicated.

Just don't believe that L&G can't go above 20 sen a share within the next 2 years. For the time being, we are being rewarded with dividends which translate into a yield of over 5%, twice Maybank's 12 month fixed deposit rate.

"RHB has already flown one time when it started increasing dividend to 40 sen with DRIP, which many people think it is a real increase."
We are not talking about the past. We are talking about the present. At RM5.50 a share and with a yearly dividend of 40 sen a share, RHB Bank's dividend yield is 7.27%, not 5.7% as claimed by you. Period!

"I have explained in details why its DY is actually around 5.7%."
You are the only one who thinks RHB Bank's dividend yield is only 5.7%. The rest of the people, including all the Investment Banks and small investors who post comments on this forum think that it is 7.27% now. Do you know that the yield changes with its price?

Ask any small investor before trading started this morning, 10 out of 10 would tell you that Genting would rally strongly when the market opened. But big boys decided otherwise. Those who had bought at above RM4.90 when the market opened are now cursing and swearing.

If I invest in 1,000 RHB Bank shares at RM5.50 today and decline to take up DRP shares allocated to me, I would have received RM400 in total dividends a year later. The dividend yield works out to 7.27%. What is not real young boy? Did you mean I can't use part of the money banked into my account? Are you alright? I have already explained to you what dilution is. The bank issues more shares but it has more money to lend out to earn more interest. You seem not to understand simple Mathematics.

"The magic is that they could give higher dividend because of DRIP"
Like you have claimed, they can give 100 sen dividend and increase the DRP portion to 90 sen, then issue 3 billion new shares. You really have fantastic ideas.
"so the the 40 sen dividend is not real."
So the money investors receive is also not real.

First quarter made 0.05 sen a share, so full year should earn 0.2 sen a share. Let's assume a PE of 100 which to me is very high, how much do you think it is worth?

Horrific performance. MRCB's meteoric rise over the last few months isn't due to expected better results but pure speculation.

I understand dilution but what you don't understand is much worse. RHB Bank issues more shares in each DRP but it has more money to lend out, meaning it earns more in interest. Are you not aware the its dividend has been maintained at 40 sen a share for 3 years already?
2024-05-30 15:50 | Report Abuse
If you think RHB's dividend yield is 18%, invest RM100,000 (you will get about 18,180 shares). Keep your shares for 6 years and you would receive dividends amounting to RM108,000. After 6 years, you stand to make RM8,000 in addition to 18,180 free RHB Bank shares. Why miss such kind of opportunity?
