above of all talking, nobody point a gun at your head and ask you to gamble. When gaining you smile quietly. When you lose you point fingers and blame others. If BURSA is so easy to make money why ppl need to work. All can just shake legs at home and just use their finger to work by pressing what they like buy.
pr so fragile ke? the biggest "buaya" is not us but foreign funds. local kaki at best short individual counter only, but when real buaya come they short NOT only counter(s), they also combine with currency play... pr can do better than talk
We already have one foreign fund company shorting today,a day after GE 13 results announcement,a very highly volatility swing in the market is sure to happen.
This is not a world market crash,so nothing alarming. After which the market will stabilise very fast during the week and there will be short covering.
Singapore Government also said .. they will dump money in Johor State if PKR win .. No worries. As long as , who can come out a good policy .. foreigner will come.
Buy Robert Kuok share .. he also announced to invested in Johor Iskandar.. because he also believed PKR will win.
Year 2008 have big drop because no one estimate BN will lost 5 state. But today, all predicted PKR will WIN. There is not a big problem, and those want to run already clear stock on hand. KWSP, PNB, wont simply sell share in market even BN Lose, because PKR is their boss later. DOn't be too panic.. ppls panic we collect...
I noticed OTB deleted the posting where he accused me of being a Traitor. He got no balls to apologise, so quietly delete and pretend it was not there.

JeffLow, I say sorry to you. I misquoted your intention.
Ooi Teik Bee:we are a very closely knit community here like brother and sisters irrespective of what creed. No one is perfect, who knows I might be wrong at times. At least you have highlighted to investors what happened before in this discussion. That's how we fine tune ourselves through arguments.
i think got one guy like to play short one.. i speculate he was trying to short FKLI since early april .. i hope he won some money for that gamble.. haha
I must confessed, I was expecting the market badly hit today and was happy when see more than 20 points dropped, unfortunately market disappointed me, anyone waiting for market to drop ? will it drop badly next week ? mind to share ur views..
hi, benchctan, may I know which broker (and possibly remisier too) I can open a Regulated Short Selling (RSS)account, so that I can participate in short selling. TQ
take note that this short selling is like a margin account. Most counters listed are not rubbish counters, they overall going upwards. And when spikes of prices, you normally won't get the change to short it. Mostly those institution will sell it & their fee is virtually free.
If enough ppl have shorted shares, what dirty institutional manipulator could do is to push up the prices(Which is easy for them) and you all small investors will be forced to buy back (Like it or not, you are likely buy from them if cannot cover margin)
Not worth it. Better to open a small FX trading account with a small sum of US1000-US10000 to take part market downturns via currencies or commodities. It also helps sharpen up your risk management, and Technical Analysis (TA) abilities
Anyways, you could open an account & play little. There is no cash account for short selling as there is no limit of how high a counter can go. ie unlimited risk with earning are as much as sales proceeds only
The REAL short-sellers are the Propriety Day Traders. Don't pay brokerage and trade big. These guys are the ones responsible for providing "liquidity" or are supposed to anyway. I believe they work for the investment banks, but I could be wrong.
Lucky88, do u know which broker or remisier I can open the RSS account. arv18, I have FX account too, but I feel more comfortable trading SGX equity market where I can short sell stocks. and trading in SGX stock give me comfortable incomes
You need to open a separate trading account with your respective investment bank such as RHB,Kenanga,HDBS or contact Foreign participant: UBS Securities Malaysia,Wisma Hong Leong (Tel: 2781 1100) JP Morgan (http://jpmorganaccess.com.my/)
Which stock have u short lately. Complaint only no point. If you really good in short selling go short US stock, currencies or commodity. Trying to be hero to make Malaysian regulation look bad don't earn you a single cent.
The price range of our CPO futures average around 40 points. One point is RM25-00. With some skill, u only need to scrap some 7 points or so multipy by the number of contracts u buy.
Before u short stocks in Bursa, better to find out if those candidates have ample volatility.
Original intention to allow short sell is to cool down any goreng activity, some pariah like YTL-Land hardly active, how can they be qualified ? Someone please report to MACC.
Is RSS behind BN losing 2013 GE popular votes? GE 14 RSS causing BN losing GE? No wonder Chua Tee Yong(Chua Soi Lek son) said parliament to dissolve last day ie June 24th.
No wonder Pak Lah won by biggest majority ever in 2004 GE. RSS was banned then.
In Bursa Malaysia, short selling is regulated under Regulated Short Selling (RSS) and Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) guidelines, which introduced to the market on 3rd January 2007. Prior to 2006, short selling was banned for about 8 years. https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/benhctan/29089.jsp
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
