Yistock...could there be another 'invisible - unreported' Segment which accounts the difference between Segment Profit & Reported PAT for Q2 & Q3?

This is probably like the middle man who takes the stakes between inter-segment sales or the unrealized transactions? Anyway...its just a 2 cents opinion from a non-accounting person..:(

If so, it will be reported in special item or include in segment reporting i believe.

You are assuming segment profit is operating profit? Why can't segment profit reported be PAT for each segment?

Mr koay, my headache now is whether there is any " invisible item" that justify the high PAT for Q3. (Assumming this is johotin routine practice where segment profit = PAT)

The problem with Johotin report is that the basis of reporting is different from quarter to quarter.

In quarter 1 and 3, the segment information were presented after tax. For quarter 2, it was presented before taxation. Obviously the tax element for Q2 has not been accounted for if you try to reconcile the numbers.

Substandard reporting, I would say.

agree. q2 shows cumulative PBT when q1 shows PAT, then q3 switch back to cumulative PAT, so you can't accurately breakdown q2 by segment. no point cracking your head, nothing you could do about it

Hi Bro Probability, it is more like "invisible" which should be reported. Any way, as long as banker like it..no issue :-)
