Pakatoon have been in opposition far too long. Everything also oppose.
I'm thinking, as long as PH have the correct candidate for the task with the desired outcomes, f*** the manifesto. Tun M is the correct candidate to me. I doubt any other candidate got the ball to do the radical changes without the resistance from the public. This old man just want to make the radical changes to our education system before his biological life span coming to the end.
It is not like Tun M want the salary of the ministry portfolio for his survival, he don't need this la.
Otherwise, our country really full of geniuses who like to call everyone idiots as long as you don't get along with their views.
Tun has mentioned that he would not take up the position as it contradicts with the Buku Harapan UNLESS the people of Malaysia choose to accept him as their Education Minister.
Go sign if u believe Tun is the correct candidate!
At 92 yrs n a tentative target of 2 yrs, to step down, it is better for Tun to let go of Education, n guide the new minister, to come out with the needed blueprint, goals n strategies, to revamp our edn policies. Time is the limiting factor for Tun.
These days, ppl live longer. 100+ yo pun tak hairan. What’s important is healthy ageing. As for the issue of death, any1 of us, old or young can die anytime. So age is just a number. Shouldn’t make it an issue. Other than scare he may overwork handling 2 portfolios, Tun is some1 we won’t hesitate handing over our children to be educated. Look how well educated his own children were! And he is the only 1 able to really revamp our kaput education systems. That’s why these days, so many parents ‘who can afford’ send their kids to private schools.
Also, the proposed candidate was rumoured to hv extremist connections. Why take the risk with our children future?
2 yrs down the road, after he hands over PMship to Anwar, Tun can still hold on to this education portfolio ( literally, didik cucu)? Not every1 retires n sits around to await death after 60yo.... Look at Robert Kuok, 94 yrs old, still going strong! Anak cucu kita semua will surely live way beyond 100 yo, according to researchers.
So let’s not use age as a yardstick. May the best man wins! Tun is an extraordinary man. Its an honour to hv him serve us again!
@relaks you must be a young guy, hihihi cant see the real results in 2yrs n then a new minister will take over, with changes again, better to let a new man start anew now. if you read Dr. maszlee CV n go thru youtube, he is v. qualified

ONLT TUN DR MAHATHIR HAS THE STATURE AND POWER TO CHANGE MALAYSIA BACK TO THE RIGHT COURSE FOR THE FUTURE.
AT THIS CRUCIAL JUCTURE PEOPLE WITH MYOPIC SHORT SIGHTED VISION WITH TRAPPINGS OF PAST HISTORY MIGHT STILL DERAIL THE BRIGHT GOLDEN ERA FOR ALL MALAYSIANS!!!
Other than that, if the new education system continues to promote discriminative and extremists values highlighted in this article: https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/savemalaysia/157433.jsp , don’t be too surprise Robert Kuok may withdraw his pledge to donate 10% his wealth to help Msia recover.
Also, if Maszlee is sworn in, bid farewell to Teaching and Learning of Science and Mathematics in English(or PPSMI). Ikram opposed PPSMI. Maszlee, is its committee member.
I’d my say. And would like to leave it to that. May the best man win!
@relaks pls dont jump the gun to prejudge, edn policy under PH , is not set by the minister alone, it is set by the Cabinet, in conformance with our Constitution. Let have confidence tht PH govt , under t PM, Tun M, work for the good of Malaysia.
Singapore mainly get foreign talent to develop the country they allow the knowledge gap to be filled. In America they practice that too, that is the way to progress. Education system base on merit is unfair for poor. Rich man can afford conducive studying opportunities for their kid while the poor man kid can never have those. So rich kid already have their advantages. Malaysia , can develop their own education system maybe follow US system is better. Forget Hong Kong and singapore PISA results, they only create fools that can’t accept the reality of real working environment demand.
Let the new minister do their works, Malaysians are supporting the political party like football clubs. Let them prove their worth at least till next election.
Singapore gives all its citizens equal opportunity to study and excel
In my little Baptist Church of 40 members there were young men & women who grew up
1 Doctor
3 Lawyers (Of the 3 one is Assistant of High Court Judge) He is also Public Prosecutor who sent some thieving Bankers to jail due to money laundering emanating from 1MDB
Computer Engineers
ECommerce Marketers
Professional teachers
Others of high intelligence
As for the import of foreign talent it is due to Singapore's population unable to reproduce itself just like in Japan.
While Japan eschews foreign talents Singapore welcomes them with open arm
FOREIGN TALENT IS HUMAN CAPITAL. Just like FDI for Talent also play an important part in nation building.
If Foreign Investors/Entrepreneurs can create high quality well paying jobs they will contribute positively to the collective overall prosperity of a country.
See Wiki post on Human Capital
Human capital is a term popularized by Gary Becker, an economist and Nobel Laureate from the University of Chicago, and Jacob Mincer that refers to the stock of knowledge, habits, social and personality attributes, including creativity, embodied in the ability to perform labor so as to produce economic value.[1] The subject is closely associated with the study of human resources management as found in the practice of business administration and macroeconomics. The original idea of human capital can be traced back at least to Adam Smith in the 18th century.
In the recent literature, the new concept of task-specific human capital was coined in 2004 by Robert Gibbon, an economist at MIT, and Michael Waldman, an economist at Cornell. The concept emphasizes that in many cases, human capital is accumulated specific to the nature of the task (or, skills required for the task), and the human capital accumulated for the task are valuable to many firms requiring the transferable skills.[2] This concept can be applied to job-assignment, wage dynamics, tournament, promotion dynamics inside firms, etc.[3]
Msia can easily use AI (artificial intelligence) to bridge the digital divide and shortage of qualified teachers. For example intro. online schools. Good education is the only way out of poverty for all.
Tun, is a strong defender of Malaysia sovereignty, exemplified by his turning down of IMF aids in the 1997 financial crises. His number one agenda for coming back is to prevent malaysia from coming under excessive influence/control of china. He is not back to make malaysia equal for all. Don't think too much just because there is change of govt, otherwise will be disappointed.
'This book contains Pakatan Harapan’s promises to the people of Malaysia on the steps we will take when we become the government. These are the policies and actions that we will implement to give this country the treatment that it needs, to REBUILD THE NATION and to FULFIL THE HOPE of the people.'
By Rule of Law, Tun means undang2 Msia. Not divine law la, @calvintaneng. Haha! Whatever, show just started. Just sit back n watch. 1MDB, MH370 & Altantunya cases all coming back. Who should fill the Education Minister post really pale in comparison.
Btw, looks like DrMaszlee has more support than DrM. 123k vs 83k Haha! Very rarely DrM kalah! Mungkin ini kalilah! Huhuhuh....
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
