Just allow USA citizens to take the chinese covid 19 vaccine....U will get another 20% of USA citizens willing to be vaccinated mah!

The logic is if USA citizens do not trust the american govt, that means likely they will trust the Chinese Govt mah!

Very controversial. Governments around the world blamed those anti-vaxxers for the herd immunity failure.

The actual fact: Governments around the world just focus on vaccines as the only solution. They did not push for the research on drugs.

In order to keep on winning in the coming elections, they blame those anti-vaxxers. But from Israel latest data, the culprit came from the low efficacy of vaccine(Pfizer) and the lost time leaders of the world to focus on vaccines instead of drugs or treatment. The only leader who put slight focus on drugs is Trump. He should have pushed further. He should have granted more funds on the research for drugs. Biotech companies usually are not really willing to put too much money on research as it may affect the stock price.

Not just Biotech, Pharma also.

There is also something wrong about how the efficacy rate is calculated.

Volunteers are splitter into vaccine and placebo group without the knowledge of the participants.
They then are monitored whether they get covid.

Those who got covid will be calculated comparing the placebo and vaccine group. The difference will be used to calculate the efficacy.


Problem: If the local reported new case is high when the trial is implemented, it tends to show a low efficacy rate. The efficacy rate is influenced by the local severity of covid condition. This is not reliable. The rate should not be affected by the local new reported case and should show consistent rate irregardless.

The early good numbers from Pfizer and Moderna was due to low number of new cases when the trials were done.

If the trials were done this January, the efficacy rate will be much lower. It's safe to assume the efficacy rate of all vaccines is around 40-50% now.

If the world leaders knew the low efficacy rate earlier, they would have put much focus on something else instead of just vaccines.
