SHAH ALAM: Waste management company Tex Cycle Technology (M) Bhd is looking to make its maiden venture in overseas market, particularly in Southeast Asia region by early next year.
"We have (been receiving) many enquiries from surrounding countries, asking if we could help them to manage their waste," its managing director S. Perry told reporters after the group's AGM here today.
"We are in talks right now but at the moment nothing has been finalised yet. But we hope to finalise it very soon," he added.
Tex Cycle is licensed to treat 31 out of 77 type of waste regulated in the country, such as rags, wiper cloths and gloves from companies in various manufacturing sectors.
At present, it has over 4,000 customers nationwide, comprising local multinational companies.
Tex Cycle (P2) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tex Cycle Technology (M) Berhad has obtained approval from SEDA to build and operate a renewable electrical energy power plant with a capacity to supply 2 MW per hour of electricity to Tenaga Nasional Berhad. The approval granted is for a period of 16 years, commencing no later than 28th January 2018.
2. The expected date of signing of the power purchase agreement (“PPA”) with Tenaga Nasional Berhad is January 2017 at a fixed tariff rate of RM0.4766 per kWh for sixteen (16) years.
