K-One Technology Bhd’s (K-One) wholly-owned subsidiary, K-One MediTech Sdn Bhd, has received the approval from Medical Device Authority of Malaysia (MDA) to manufacture and supply five additional variants of nasal swabs for use in COVID-19 testing.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, K-One said this is in addition to an earlier approval it had obtained with regards to its specific nasal swab, which was granted by the MDA on Sept 3, 2020.

“With the spectrum of approved nasal swabs, the company is in a position to meet the varying needs of children and adults who require different head diameter, applicator length and breakpoint,” it said.

It said the approval is timely as the government has made it mandatory for all foreign workers to be tested for COVID-19 starting Jan 1, 2021, which would boost demand for nasal swabs.

The company added that it is prepared to meet the surge in demand and will work with local distributors to intensify marketing activities to sell to public and private hospitals as well as test laboratories, besides reaching out to targeted overseas markets that have high demand potential for nasal and oral swabs due to the rising COVID-19 infections.

What a April's Fool joke this K1.. up till now still nothing concrete to show for their HC biz except nice long essay. Q1 just ended yesterday and supporters will be anticipating a "solid" QR. We shall see what happens to the 37M cash reserve whether pancit like its share price.

Till today share price in the dumps from high 0.705 and no worthy news to push it up. The no sales HC products and cheap Esos still lingers in everyone's mind.
