I never understood the logic of how chip shortages contributes to the rise of Frontken price, as if Frontken profit will increase because of chip shortages, isn't it the other way around? They could have serviced more machines but now can't because there is a bottleneck?

It made more sense if there is a spike in chip demand + chip production, this means they have more jobs. Now, they have either slightly more jobs or more or less the same number of jobs but with slightly higher pay.

Just like gold, if gold price goes up, I dont think goldsmith will sell many jewellery, which doesn't make sense when Poh Kong's stock price went up when gold price went up. Just like Frontken, it should be the opposite, if gold price drop, you will see many people flock to goldsmith shop.

Is Frontken expensive? Time will tell. Happy investing.

Frontken is in precision cleaning. Their customers are expanding, meaning buying more equipment. More equipment means more cleaning for Frontken.

TSMC capacity is already full for quite sometime. It will take at least few years for expansion and Frontken can only have growth until that time. In short term, dont be over positive and expect too much in the future results. Rather, do expect minimal or even no growth on its profit.

Yes, that is exactly what is going on. This is not pasar malam business, can open, close, scale up or down easily. These machines also takes time to build and delivered from Netherlands to Taiwan, then need to fine tune and do test before full production.

The whole argument on chip shortage is like saying a car washing company will make good profit because there is a shortage of chips and cars. A car washing company will only make good profit when there are more cars on the road, for now, there is a bottleneck in production for chips.

Dont get me wrong, I like Frontken, good company. But valuation is too rich for now. Buy and hold for long term is a good move... that is if you already bought it few years ago.

You are right MiaoMiao7. The so called investor now is not bother to look at valuation. They only look at what they want to see and what they believe bcz they are holding the share. They keep saying very positive things and keep asking ppl to buy at current price but they themselves will not buy anymore. They just want ppl to support the share price for them.

Chip shortage meaning they’ll be busy all year long. So profit is there. Maybe just don’t have exponential growth. When new factories ready, then you’ll see huge profit growth.

And since you also mentioned this is not a pasar malam business which can easily open and close. Meaning not much competition. Just a matter of time to see their profit growing exponentially.

Price started flying on Jan, what changed? Nothing, suddenly spike in profit and secure new projects? No. Insider already knows got bonus and free warrant, so they all rush to buy, and now as bonus gets nearer and nearer, they throw and take profit. Tomorrow throw again, then get free warrant throw again. Just saying, am not here to trash Frontken, just saying what I am observing.

Profit lesser than previous qrt is because of the surtax being charged at Taiwan side lo, if it is excluded , it would be 9% higher than previous qrt profit la...Don't be lazy, go read report

Shorter business period for qrt one, still record higher revenue and higher profit (if exclude surtax).... Hold long long like your lover

Yeah, the surtax from Taiwan operation.

Hopefully, the company will reveal more on the progress of US operation since they have issued out 500 mil shares of warrant(RM4 ex-price) for future funding up to RM2 billion.

@pampers was right, management did written into qr report about why and what causing decreasing in PAT. and then in prospect frontken mentioning several times and passed qr report, and it waiting & preparing the 5g roll-out. furthermore, oil & gas got a contracted with petronas and then management also positive with the development in this sector.
