Soon investors would forget that RHB Bank has just traded ex dividend and would be wondering why a counter with earnings per share of almost 65 sen and dividends of 40 sen a share for the past two years should be accorded such a low valuation. That would be the time it starts to move north again, just like Maybank. Maybank closed at RM8.69 a day before it went ex dividend. Now, it has clawed back to RM8.69 again. RHB Bank should climb back to RM5.75 also in the near future.

share price is suppressed due to DRIP

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-04-18 09:05 | Report Abuse

Subscription price for shares to be issued under the DRP has already been determined. Time for RHB Bank to move up.

RHB Bank has not dropped below RM5 for almost two and a half years. Unless there is a recession later this year, otherwise no chance.

Posted by unicornbird > 2023-04-20 08:20 | Report Abuse

the DRP price is absurd low. but it's good for larger shareholders

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-04-20 09:18 | Report Abuse

Holding over 1.7 billion RHB Bank shares, EPF is the biggest beneficiary. It means many, many people have also benefited, though in a negligible way.

Have already submitted the subscription. It is irresistible. Maybank's drp is totally unattractive.

Very good bank to invest with good dividend too mah!

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-04-24 22:26 | Report Abuse

The problem is small investors don't invest in this bank. They prefer to speculate and hope to make fast money in glove stocks, myeg etc.

RHB Bank's average earnings per share over the past 13 years was 58.4 sen but it has paid out less than half as dividends. It has the capacity to declare a one for one bonus issue.

Posted by Firein10years > 2023-04-27 14:38 | Report Abuse

Hi guys, newbie here, for the drp 4.74. The letter from rhb show i can only buy max 33 share. But i am getting rm800 dividend, may i know why

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-04-27 16:11 | Report Abuse

RHB Bank has declared a final dvidend of RM0.25 per share. Out of this amount, investors can only use RM0.05 per share to subscribe for DRP shares at RM4.74 per share. The rest would be paid in cash to investos.

Posted by happybuying > 2023-04-27 17:34 | Report Abuse

you most probably having 3200 RHB shares. Dividend of 0.05 to be used for DRP will amount to RM160. Each DRP share price at 4.74 = RM160/4.74 = 33.75 ---> 33 shares.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-04-27 21:51 | Report Abuse

Not easy to make money from DRP. Even if you own 100,000 shares, you are still unable to make more than 1k.

DRP is toxic
Good thing RHB give little DRP. Otherwise if kasi big become like Bimb

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-01 21:17 | Report Abuse

RHB Bank's earnings this year should improve slightly, reflecting a projected 4% economic growth and an absence of prosperity tax. Hopefully after the release of its first quarterly results, its share price would rise to above RM6.

https://klse.i3investor.com/web/blog/detail/AmInvestResearch/2023-05-03-story-h-271599215-Strategy_Milder_foreign_selling_pressure_in_April

April foreign selling slowed down. Amid tapering concerns of another global financial crisis triggered by sharp US Federal Reserve interest rate hikes, net foreign outflows dropped 81% MoM from RM1.3bil in March to RM251mil in April, which was largely offset by local institutions’ net buying of RM213mil (Exhibit 6-8). Most of the April foreign net selling pressure was in banks with the rest in technology, healthcare and REITS, involving CIMB Bank, RHB Bank, Public Bank, Tenaga, Top Glove and Inari Amertron.

However, foreigners were net buyers in Maybank, Hibiscus Petroleum, Malaysia Airports and Genting Malaysia (Exhibits 2-3).

Investors who had bought RHB Bank at over RM6 a share about a year ago and did not average down still lose money even if the total dividends received/pending (65 sen a share in total) are included. Looks like RM6 is still elusive. Hopefully this is achievable by the month's end.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-08 10:19 | Report Abuse

With earnings per share at around 65 sen and dividend at 40 sen for the past two years, RHB Bank shoud be trading at RM6.50. Anything less is illogical.

Posted by helpmespendmoney > 2023-05-08 13:24 | Report Abuse

Eh, since OPR increase d, got any bargains ah for stocks?

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-08 16:31 | Report Abuse

Local bank sentiment had already been affected when the crisis struck about one and a half months ago. Several weeks prior to the crisis, Maybank was trading at around RM8.75 and RHB Bank at RM5.75. Maybank dipped to RM8.26 and RHB Bank to RM5.45 during the crisis. Now most US banks have recovered, though not fully from the losses. Maybank has fully recovered (more than fully recovered if we include the 30 sen final dividend). RHB Bank still has 20 sen to go.

Past 3 years very good
Past 1 year flat
Considered very good d

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-12 11:18 | Report Abuse

Considering that its earnings for the last two years was almost 65 sen a share and dividend per share was 40 sen, it should have fared much better.

25c dividend today!

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-15 12:19 | Report Abuse

Better to directly own RHB Bank. Some companies don't bother to pay good dividends after receiving windfalls from their investments.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-15 12:33 | Report Abuse

Already used the dividend to pay credit cards and utility bills. hahaha

Posted by pinnaclegrade > 2023-05-18 21:31 | Report Abuse

anyone knows when is the next dividend date? (roughly)

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-19 10:03 | Report Abuse

RHB Bank pays dividends twice a year. Final dividend is generally paid in mid June but this year investors got their final dividend one month earlier. Interim dividend is generally paid in early November.

Just wondering, DRP is quite a good plan right, a normal price of RM 5.5, we can buy in RM 4.74, means we can buy a cheaper price even the portion is small, better than nothing will pull the average price down, why so many people scared of DRP. For me, if the DRP is 0.25sen for this time i will become more happy since i can buy more unit at cheaper price

Posted by pinnaclegrade > 2023-05-19 13:54 | Report Abuse

@prudentinvestor thank you !

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-19 16:46 | Report Abuse

RHB Bank's share price has been stuck within a narrow band of RM5.45 to RM5.55 for the past one month. It is getting very boring. Big investors have been accumulating the counter.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2023-05-21 17:43 | Report Abuse

Hopefully RHB Bank' share price would move out of this narrow trading band once its first quarter financial results are released later this month. Its earnings should be comparable to the final quarter of last year rather than the first quarter.
