TP 8.40

Posted by newcomer123 > 2016-02-26 14:47 | Report Abuse

that means they increased more allowance to support individual default.

Posted by charliecharlie > 2016-02-26 15:04 | Report Abuse

i tink 8.30 is the fair price to enter. before Q4 result, it went up...after result announce, dunno y it's sell down...EPF selling too..

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-02-26 15:09 | Report Abuse

if u bought 8.30-8.40
less 30c div
u r buying 8.00 for maybank
after discounting our ringgit depreciation from 2.60 to 4.20
=420-260=160
160/260*100=61% (RM 4.88)
8.00*39%
actual value bought is only RM3.12
yes, RM3.12 before the crisis???

The individual allowance is abt 500mil. Does it means maybank expects 500 mil is burnt in the worst case scenario??

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-02-26 15:10 | Report Abuse

So , please sell to RM 8.00 better still, so that we can buy more....

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-02-26 15:23 | Report Abuse

good bargain....once in a lifetime like this one selling down...amanahraya trustee collected but epf keep on selling , from left hand to right hand n right hand to left hand....

Posted by newcomer123 > 2016-02-26 16:07 | Report Abuse

Why Maybank profit drop QOQ when many cheaper banking stocks(eg CIMB) report higher profit QOQ.

But I m waiting at RM 8 but no one is selling yet....even Amanahrayat keep on accumulating... I wonder why they still collect more than 8.50+ when they simply can wait below 8?

Posted by stocktrader3 > 2016-02-29 11:21 | Report Abuse

below 8 ah, haha...i also wish, defensive stock bro.

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-02-29 13:16 | Report Abuse

where got profit dropped? it is increased 1.09% ma.... Financial year end net profit 6.986 billion (increased 1.09%)

Thursday, 25 Feb 2016

5:17PM MAYBANK NEW ISSUE OF SECURITIES (CHAPTER 6 OF LISTING REQUIREMENTS)
5:14PM MAYBANK EMPLOYEES PROVIDENT FUND BOARD (719,400 units Disposed)
12:55PM MAYBANK Financial year end net profit 6.986 billion (increased 1.09%)

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-02-29 13:28 | Report Abuse

after deducting carrot dangling 30c div , this stock only cost RM 8.00-8.20, considered dirt cheap for banking stocks coupled with the Ringgit depreciation around 35-40% , by second qtr , many expect the Ringgit to strengthen around RM4.00, so the coming Ringgit appreciation if really happens will add more flavor in the long run.. which nobody dare to bet it will never happen or vice versa?

someone put a brake at 8.60 in order to buy cheap!

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-02-29 16:28 | Report Abuse

when big timers like epf n amanahrayat were involved , just difficult to predict the price because they r holding in billions n can manage any price they wanted...we must careful of the selling down tactics !

Brother leslieroycarter, just buy & keep it in storage & collect the twice per year dividend which I had been doing for around 5 years too...no worries at all for me.

CIMB's NPL in Indonesia up. Mayabnk's subsidiary in Indonesia NPL down mainly due to restructuring of those bad loans. Not because its asset quality is better. Restructuring of bad loans e.g. converting it to long term loans, lengthening the payment period etc.

the best policy is keeping cash now, coz the stocks r in troubles mainly due to exchange rate problems, politically n economically also unstable n unclear ...

@annqueenqueen. No. You have to hold the shares at 5pm of the Ex-Date, which means, the earliest day you can sell and still qualify for the dividends is the day after the Ex-Date.

In Maybank's case, the dividend dates have not been announced.

Posted by annqueenqueen > 2016-03-10 11:03 | Report Abuse

pengwin, Thank You very much! :)

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-03-10 15:04 | Report Abuse

now , both epf n amanahrayat r selling....
if u want to buy , better after ex div 30c , then it will be much cheaper again!

Saw a lot of interest in c17. Worth look into. Premium is very thin. If u want to buy banking counter but u have limited capital, u can consider warrant. Just saying

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-03-18 07:46 | Report Abuse

there r big sellers than buyers here!

If u have observed. Buyers n sellers blocked both entrance n exit. If u want to buy, u have to pay the seller's price otherwise u will be jammed in the long queue. Same if u want to sell, u have to pay the buyer's price. I believe both are gomen funds. If they want to induce some panic selling, the buyers on the buy sell would suddenly disappear.

Junichiro...My view is there are strong buying at the moment and the reluctance of sellers to sell it at a cheaper price hence your observation of the narrow band. Foreign funds are buying in and the local institutions are offloading them hence the larger volumes

So far there are no signs of foreign buying. For Genting, yes.

My observation was on TM some time ago which I own some shares. The buy side showed orders for over 1 million shares while the sell side about 300,000 shares but the price hardly moved. Unlike what is happening to Maybank.

Junichiro ...interesting observation. Will need to see the announcement of major shares changing hand to see who have been buying and selling in big volume. Overall the banking shares have been having a good run even CIMB which has been under performing for a while.

Junichiro, take note that Maybank is index linked stock.
The local institutions(like EPF) are there to push up index linked stock when the price falls or sell off when price higher

RM8.91 for Maybank is rather high already. It ranged from 8.28 to 8.60+ just 2 to 3 months ago

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2016-03-25 14:52 | Report Abuse

it is weakening again after big fund managers r throwing ....may test 8.18 again...
