@Fabien. Did you spy on me? :) I don't put my eggs there. I put my hens there. And as for the eggs, I have not decided where to put. It is better to keep them temporary. The world is getting more chaos, who knows what will happen tomorrow. At least I got some hard boiled eggs to eat when things go unexpected. Every stock has got a big bad wolf you know. We need to store some food just in case, for long-term guerrilla warfare.

After 1-for1 bonus issue
Dividend will BY DEFAULT become 5 sen per share (assuming everything else remain the same)
Dividend yield WILL BE THE SAME

Bonus issue, share split, WILL NOT AFFECT DIVIDEND YIELD, assuming everything remain the same. That's why I've always been saying, bonus and splits are meaningless other than to make 1 lot becomes "cheaper" to own

I suppose there will be small adjustment within this few days after the production report announcement.

Bonus issue acts only to make PER SHARE "cheaper" in absolute Ringgit terms. Making ONE LOT of the share more "affordable" to purchase.

The value of the company remains UNCHANGED.

ABC Bhd previously has 2 shareholders - Mr X and Mr Z
ABC Bhd issued 100 shares, Mr X and Mr Z has 50 shares each
ABC Bhd is worth RM100m
Hence 1 share is worth RM1m
Mr X's and Mr Z's shareholding is worth RM50m each

Now ABC do a bonus issue, 1 for 1
So ABC will have 200 shares now
ABC is STILL worth RM100m
But each share is now worth RM500K
Mr X will now have 100 shares (50 existing + 50 "new")
Value of Mr X's is now 100 shares x RM500K = RM50m

See? NOTHING CHANGED.

The only thing changed is that 1 share has dropped from RM1m to RM500K

The value of shareholder's holding remain unchanged.

That's what I've always described as - cutting a cake into smaller pieces

The cow can give 10 glasses of 200ml milk.
Now the farm decides to give "bonus" of 1 glass for every glass.
So each glass is now 100ml.
So previously you are entitled to have 1 glass of 200ml
After the "bonus" you will have 2 glasses of milk, 100ml each.
You still get 200ml of milk, bonus or no bonus.

BONUS ISSUES AND SHARE SPLITS CHANGE NOTHING EXCEPT TO MAKE EACH SHARE WORTH LESSER SO THAT THERE IS MORE SHARES IN CIRCULATION.

This woman can give birth 4 times in 4 years
She currently has 2 husbands
She splits her "childbearing time" evenly between the 2 husbands
So each husband gets 2 children in 4 years
So now the woman out of whim decides to split her "quota" into 8 "tickets" in 4 years
She is still THE SAME ONE-BABY-A-YEAR WOMAN
So husband A will have 4 tickets
Husband B will have 4 tickets
But now 2 TICKETS ONLY GETS 1 BABY

Further illustration - if a RM1.0B company were to do a 1 for 10 bonus issue, it won't magically become a RM1.1B company overnight just by doing that. IT IS STILL THE SAME RM1.0M COMPANY 😑

Just remember way back in april 2021, those holding the share before bonus issue of 1 for 1 at 25.00 is now worth more than 60.00 with dividend of 6k since then. This is a growth stock.

But if they did not do the bonus back then, the share would be trading at RM60 a share today, at RM6K a normal lot. That will scare away a lot of ikan bilis retail investors.

The benefit of doing bonus and splits is to make each lot more "affordable" to ikan bilis.
