i intend to be an investor when started trading but the reality market not really for that, its just a place for the super rich to take money from the common traders in a legal way

those who has money always looking around for a stock than can be manipulated when opportunity comes, the buy and sell will be well planned and calculated mathematically use computerised tools to create patterns and strategies to overtaking one another

fundamental does apply but not all the times, trends and patterns ie volume & chart has bigger effect than fundamental practices, where suits the normal behaviour of human that always crave for big profit in short period

if stock market really an investment tool, we should see many people makes money than losing, i yet to see that

I'm new here though I bought MMC couple of weeks back when I started to look into KLSE's stocks.

I don't know whether I'm considered an investor/gambler/fortune teller.

I do my research, do my pick on stocks that I think can at least double/triple in 1-2yr time then I sit back and wait. Of course, if it rally within 1 mth like Adventa, it's perfect for me, otherwise, I think patience pays especially on good picks like MMC.

I guess everyone has different way of managing their stocks. Some likes to chase high, some likes to cut loss when it drops, some likes to average down when it drops etc etc.. I won't say who is right/wrong. It's just the way they think is best for their money.

Yes, I agree that big players are always the one that have advantage over us, but with the right mind & strategy, we can still make profits.

we pick mmc bcoz it can sustain earnings during crisis, hve good fundamental... everybody will agree on this, i no objection, have 35K of mmc shares now

BUT not at the old time when everybody chasing late yahya sulong, albukhary and halim saad stocks and later
lose big money, it was sapura kencana which now become sapura energy, and umw-og now become velesto or drb-hicom when it was all time high

what i said was referring to the scenario of the reality of stock market when it was traded at cheap price and then shoot up >100%, then 200% and the next couple years become a penny stock, those bought at crisis time would benefit but those buy later will face the consequences, and the one who benefited would be small portion compare to those bearing losses

the one who can survive stock market is those who has money power, not those use hard earn saving/salary to trade, the latter eventually will be gone and shy away from market

@Adam, no worry is normal flucture few cents in same day. Dividend is COUNT BY UNIT you have. To made it easier, just check how many UNIT you have, not lot lot lot, it will confuse you. MMC giving 0.045 cent per 1 unit. If you have 100 unit, you will get 100 unit x 0.045cent = RM 4.50 dividend.

@hornbill is right, if for who are prefer 'invest' for dividend purposes, PEACE OF MIND, MMC indeed a very good counter to park your money compare with current FD rate. If you are 'very adventurer/ high risk taker, no heart issue background' and wanna see big high and low almost everyday, should have a look for glove related counter. :D

@super888, 1 lot is 100 unit only for Bursa Msia. If you bought 1 lot (100 unit), then you will get RM 4.50 dividend. If you bought 1000 unit (10 lot) then RM 45

I believe is profit taking.....I'm longterm player (2 to 5 years investment horizon), I never concern & never worried at MMC daily price fluctuation ....I only focus at MMC business and bottomline @ quarterly results ...I will dispose MMC even at loss if MMC register 2 consecutive quarterly losses....as long as MMC still register profit, I will hold on until it break RM2.....then only i will revisit my portfolio n decision to hold on or dispose above RM2....my 2 cents opinion

Last week I added in at RM0.805....my investment at MMC is DO or DIE!!!....since all my saving n investment fund only invest at this ONE STOCK@MMC....around the world, 100% all the investment GURU advised you to separate your risk n dont put all the egg in one basket!!!...but I believe , committed and full of confidence wth my finding, analysis and herd mentality approach on this MMC.....DO also MMC, DIE also MMC, PLAY also MMC, EAT also MMC and SLEEP also MMC....that the CRAZY OF ME....God blessing

div 4.5 is not a real deal, you can get a below 50c stock with 10% div on bursa now

port business is not a hype, mostly stagnant and within expectation BUT its a proven defensive stock

and a defensive stock is less attractive for market player to goreng, so it will only gradually moving up or down along the way, dont expect it will be like glove, IT and o&g on the price movement
