Hi Possible88,
If your entry price is high said now you are at lost more than 10%, I would advice you to cut-lost at least half of your portfolio because any further decline of the share price will cause you to be very worry . Hopefully tomorrow can rebound a bit and you can sell. The otehr half you can be leave there as I see the company prospect is very good. Petro consumption is recession prove and with current malaysia economy, there are not many biz that is as resilient as petro biz.
PetDag also reported poor result in Q4 only 9 sens but because the counter does not have many shorterm investor, the price not really affected. So why cant we give Petronm another Quarter to prove their performance.

Please stop acting like an idiot, Q4 mandatory maintenance is expected, any positive EPS in this Quarter is consider a good result. Summore they declared 20 cents dividend. Today's drop is totally panic selling. Those panic sellers will regret soon. Thank you.

But its obvious Shell at 3 is over valued.

Perhaps the whole refinery is obsolete and to be sold as scrap metal.

And.....look at the accounts, there is a few hundred million $ of derivative assets carried in the balance sheet of the unaudited accounts....

I always believe that a company wont simply declare big dividend if they are not confident of the future cash flow. Petron registered positive cash flow of 200K in 2015 and reduce the debt by 400K. It is amazing. I believe today selling is because of the retail investor who are caught buying at high after the stock break the 7.00 resistant as many punters like the breakout. so when price drop below 7.00 this group will start to sell. If fund manager is not accumulating, the price will continue to slide until they finish selling. Most of the retail investor will stay away from this counter for a while or just play rebound. No one want to catch and hold a falling knife.

The eps should be based on prospective eps & not historical eps. The question is what will be its eps going forward? Can Petron repeat its performance or is it just a one time event?

If one sees and understands SHELL's financial statements, it should be quite apparent by now.... that there is simply no logical arguments available to justify current relative pricing of PetronM & Shell....purely based on Financial statements and their similar business nature.

As such, their pricing are currently contributed 90% by psychology and 10% by facts available.

Suggest people to rest all arguments...unless one can find new not readily available information to share.

Till then we can only wait for the Psychology to melt....and Hard facts to emerge.

I would say it could correct to $5.00 but it will take time to reach its target. If u look at the charts, Petron formed a double top with candle wicks which means it does not have the momentum to go further up. This is already a warning sign.
To put a setup there is high risk. I may as well buy other counters which have the same upside potential n less risky.
Insiders have a lot of info which we do not have. 2 months have already passed when the results are being announced. What is their performance during these 2 months, we do not know. Those who bought at the early stages have all made money. But to assume investors would buy to the extreme based on EPS is lot logical.
GLS like Petronas D has the support of gomen funds & you can say its PE is expensive. Others may not have.
