PM has hinted that no GST wil be implemented! Gosh, wonder how John1 does trading with this, simple open news also get it wrong. I guess you see red QR means not so good result without analyzing the QR in depth! Gosh!

Genting Berhad business is lucrative with profit margin of 28.5%. The gross profit wasn’t great due to temporary depreciation charges and foreign exchange loss! What most important is that Genting Berhad has better current asset (net worth) QoQ, RM102,509,573,000 (Dec 2022) vs RM102,448,115,000 (Dec 2021). Interestingly, Genting berhad has been clearing off short term and long term borrowings for the past one year even though we are still in transitioning moment from the COVID pandemic. Not to forget to highlight that Genting Berhad has cash in bank of RM 21,918,770,000, roughly the same as in Dec 2021. With the huge cash reserve and high profit margin, personally is confident that Genting Berhad will perform better in the 1st quarter and beyond! Cheers!

Depreciation has no impact on cash flow …..worth noting. Impairment cost of RM 394m is one off. So 1st Qtr will report better numbers.

Result very bad due to accounting tactic need to dive deep into SOCF only can understand. Div only 9cent a bit disappoint. But that all in the past 2022 while 2023 and the next must be good show.

Taokay better dont bet on result la. Sometimes you bet correct the result can be very good but strangely the stock price laosai immediately. I tell my recent observation. DBS bank recently reported a record FY2022 net profit of S$8.2B and declared special divy total S$0.92/share. Their Q4 net profit reached a quarterly record of SGD 2.34 billion, up 69% from a year ago. But stock price selldown after result. Could be DBS' record profit still below market expectation? The market is forward looking they whales also feel that rate hikes tapering and abt to plateau. NIM (Net Interest Margin) going to be lower than before or perhaps weaker economy will lead to higher bad debt ratio. There could be many reasons but the fact is DBS is now abt 5% lower 2 weeks after their result announcement. I think after exdiv price may even collapse more.
