Today is LAST day of selling, it will recover very strongly next week. IJM is KEY BLUE CHIP stock for exposure to construction + property + plantation

Removal from MSCI global index would likely mark a halt in selling. On 31st August 2020, IJM would be removed from the MSCI Global Index and funds tracking the index would sell the stock for rebalancing purposes. We see opportunity in this situation as historically, past MSCI removals such as IOIPG (28th May 2019), SPSETIA (26th Nov 2019) and SIMEPROP (26th Nov 2019) rebounded right after the MSCI rebalancing date. This phenomenon can be explained by the drying up of sellers and re-emergence of buyers.

Let us look at two academic/empirical studies...

"Do emerging market stocks benefit from index inclusion?" by Burcu Hacibedel and Jos van Bommel. Available at: https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/6301308.pdf

and

"The relationship between stock performance and their inclusion to or exclusion from the MSCI or S&P 500 - An event study for listed firms in Europe and US" by Jeroen Reuling. Available at: http://arno.uvt.nl/show.cgi?fid=141801

The findings are:
1) Pre-MSCI inclusion, stocks have higher abnormal returns
2) Post-MSCI inclusion, stocks have near 0 abnormal returns or negative abnormal returns
3) Pre-MSCI exclusion, stocks have negative abnormal returns
4) Post-MSCI exclusion, stocks have higher abnormal returns

It seems to indicate a golden buying opportunity for IJM today..

IJM already bashed down to multi year lowest level, reach hard rock bottom, only at the time fear selloff covid pandemic can match current lowest level.

I sold my IJM in March 2019 for 2.11 & forgot all about it...esp since it went up even further to 2.50+ later that year.

2day I was browsing the Top Vol list & caught my eye...I saw it & WT f? Only 1.2+???lol
