the future is that kseng landed asset will be acquired by state government n the compensation is around RM 8.50 per ft2 for 1700 acres in Masai, Pasir Gudang...
Calvin, when did Mulpha go up to RM4.50? The highest level it went up to was RM2.00 achieved in May 2007. Mulpha's total debt exceeds RM2 billion. Never invest in a heavily indebted counter.
re posting by "nardev" above...good observation. Yesterday they threw 1 to me at 5.31 (11sen below the closing price). Later in the day, threw 4 lots to make it close at 5.28. This morning opening, I got 1 at 5.19 and threw the balance later, making KSeng one of the Top Losers....Why try to "suppress" the price".What's cooking...any idea??
the ho family which controls ks is looking from the other end of the telescope because most of family are singaporeans. btw at least one of them is among the top 50 richest man in singapore.
ykloh...re telescope, you are right. some share holders have also done same, just threw outright to the buyer one block of 9 lots at 4.66 at time = 9:22:12am, a while ago today.
Just pick up 1,000 shares each time it drops by 20 to 30 sen. Looking at the trend, some hands are trying to push its price further down. Just can't understand why investors are willing to sell such a cash and asset rich counter.
Ha, ha, I hope there are more investors like you so that I can make more money. Keck Seng's cash holding and the value of the shares it holds (assuming its value has dropped to RM 350 million) are already worth RM 3.75 per share. If you look through the analysis of shareholdings 2014, only one royal family member, Tunku Zahrah Bte Tunku Osman (Sultan's cousin) holds 1.545 milliom Keck Seng shares. I don't know if any other Johor royalty holds any Keck Seng shares. For sure, they won,t sell shares in the open market. The drop in Keck Seng shares is due to the drastic fall in CPO price.
Let us be fair to his comment (re the selling by Johore Royal) that has depressed KSeng)... is this true? Let us establish that first, how? ie a few million to be sold. He has a point, but let us not "rubbish" him unless we know the FACTS! The stock market is filled with irrational investors and punters who are prepared to simply dump value shares at any price. I agree KSeng is one of them, a gem to be picked at these prices, never fear even it may drop to below 4/-
Keck Seng dropped heavily over the past few weeks simply because the market sentiment was extremely bad. CPO also dropped heavily by more than 10%. Keck Seng has over RM 620 million cash hoard in Sing and US dollars, roughly in the ratio 55 to 45.
latest ....1700 acres of kseng 's land supposed to be acquired by govt has now put on hold....coz govt no money liaso...so kseng's land is intact at the moment...
As at 31/12/14, Keck Seng had RM 370 million of it cash in Sing Dollars and another RM 260 million in US Dollars. Sing Dollar has appreciated by about 11% against the Ringgit since the beginning of the year while the US Dollar has appreciated by 18%. The foreign exchange gain of Keck Seng's cash now exceeds 85 million. The company only reported a foreign exchange gain of RM 23 million for the first half of this year.
All that cash hoard that KSeng has gained by keeping in Sing $ and USD only gives one a good feeling, see but cannot touch. what for?? Will the Company reward shareholders with a special dividend. Why keep so much to make the books/balance sheet looks good. A question that ought to be raised at the forthcoming AGM. Unfortunately the MSWG with whom I brought this issue of the KSeng cash hoard and the miserable dividend, was not prepared to attend the AGM. I have to try again. Can anyone out there also pursue this matter with the MSWG?
Keck Seng's foreign currency holding, RM 260 million in US dollars and RM 370 million in Singapore dollars has now appreciated by a total of over RM 100 million, equal to EPS of 27.7 sen.
I am afraid you have counted Keck Seng's share buy back twice. After Keck Seng has bought back its own shares for several days, it will make another announcement, giving the total number of shares it has bought over a certain period.
With plenty of SGD deposits, as well as its holdings of some plantations, healthcare and hotel stocks which is performing moderately well, it is expected to announce another commendable results in the 3rd qtr. Cheers!!!
stingy management ....it has turned out to be dead counter . I think no point in holding anymore coz v little div n can't see any prospects of turning your investment in multiples...
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
