Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott today said there will be no taxpayer handouts for struggling national carrier Qantas, but flagged support for lifting foreign ownership restrictions on the airline.
Will MAS future fate be like Qantas? How now? Heheheheheh!!
Going to order another 100planes to play catch up other player? Does it mean another Few billion from the taxpayers to the cronies? This company and government is hopeless!!!
Apamacam
MAS is incurring huge losses due to one single factor. MAS's customer is RETAIL and not government or Petronas like the other cronies co and GLC. The same model cannot be applied to MAS because there is no competitive edge. The government cannot award freebies to MAS due to different business nature. Its Pampered Child Syndrome will fail unlike the other GLC.
some company will invest on the loss company due to avoid for the tax... Airasia free ticket for public, didn't lose 1.2 billion... MAS didn't free ticket, but lose 1.2 billion...
Tan Sri Tony Fernandes took a swipe today at rival Malaysia Airlines (MAS) for chalking up a staggering RM1.17 billion in losses last year, saying that it was unfair that the flag carrier could lose so much money and still afford to protect its market share.
In a series of tweets this morning, Fernandes drew comparisons between the national carrier and his own airline AirAsia, which he pointed out has done much better despite budget limitations and regulations currently imposed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad.
“I wonder if it's fair that Malaysia airlines can lose so much money and protect its market share. Can only do that with taxpayers money,” he added.
those buying into this counter are buying on speculative purpose only... who doesn't know MAS is a useless and hopeless company that depends on the government bailout whenever they got problem....
learn from JAL bankruptcy experience.....the airline bounced back after the govt decided enuf is enuf.......no more further bailouts......can MAS/govt have the will to do so? Qantas is another case in point.....govt intervention doesn't help bottom-line....
