Do not fall into their trap, this is their strategy. One day up, one day down. Can not trade, no chance to make quick money. You buy to trade, very hard to make, but you know they are buying, Mas is cheap, no performance at all since the last right issue. But so many retailers hv bot into Mas, sitting on paper loss, therefore a lot of complain about Mas. Somebody is taking advantage of this, they are accumulating quietly. So in order to make money out of Mas, you just buy n keep. IT is simple.
I think MAS should stop the meal service from Brahim, since all the meal package provided quick loaded to the company financial.Possibly MAS can sourcing from others cheaper catering to offer the flight meal that everybody can save their pocket money during the flight journey.
Like forum like share......This forum must be energetic ,brainwashing and convincing.Perhaps then the suckers and vampires will read and maybe change their lifestyle.Sorry no offence..just being constructive.
wah terry u are here too, I use to hold this share couple of years ago and cut lost before it became too serious, well let see what we can do to give MAS some power to move.
Terry Sinclair Firstly Mas should catch the culprits who are stealing money all the time. Now that is really tough right.Increase in passenger load is proportional to overhead expenses it seems. So mas is deep trouble.Next quarter will still be bad until a time will come eventually when the equation favours revenue .That is mas plan for this visit malaysia year. Then once successful the vampires will strike back unfortunately. The other faster option is privitisation but has been ruled out.I opted out for a more promising share which u 315.. is aware of with a positive result.I may buy back if it falls below 30.Even 30 looks precarious now.
Malaysians take their nasi lemak seriously. So much so, in fact, that the act of a celebrity chef in uploading a picture of a rather bare looking nasi lemak served onboard a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight has struck a chord with many.
Thanks Chef Wan, for enlightening us on the 'naked' nasi lemak on MAS flights. It seems like the company is cutting costs yet again in order to survive. Unfortunately, the victim now is the humble nasi lemak.
Is the company feeling the pinch, too, like us ordinary citizens? MAS had better do an audit check on its caterer. Perhaps what they promised and what they actually deliver are worlds apart.
Chef Wan, it is a lost cause. Because you are “somebody”, they responded to you. If others were to complain, they will just ignore them. Mind you, I don't think MAS has paid cheaply on that “box” of nasi lemak.
Check who is the supplier first. Check how much that supplier charges MAS before we talk further.
No one is able to turn MAS around, not even a sage. It is a company of the cronies, by the cronies and for the cronies. No passengers, MAS employees, or MAS shareholders can ever make any noise - it will be anti-national, seditious and unpatriotic.
Be very careful Chef Wan, they may come after you too.
Chef Wan may not realise that the whole episode boils down to MAS' inability to withstand the cut-throat competition of the aviation industry.
It is short-changing its passengers in its quest to cut costs. The ‘naked’ nasi lemak and the bottle of water are all the passengers get on its flights to Bangkok and many other destinations.
The same Bangkok flight code-shared with, and operated by, Thai Airways serves much, much better dishes.
Blame it on the ruling elite who do not have the political will to transform MAS, despite it having burnt close to RM10 billion of the taxpayers' money over its chequered history.
Will an Umno minister quickly lodge a police report to ask the police to charge Chef Wan with seditious statements against our national airlines? Don't stop at DAP Seputeh MP Teresa Kok. LOL
The quality of the nasi lemak is symbolic of the gross mismanagement of MAS' deplorable state of their services.
Ever wonder why they are continuously in the red and needed to be bailed out umpteen times? Their management is ensconced in their comfort zone, and professionalism and hard work are quite far from their minds.
They should rid themselves of all their 'fattened' executives and bring in quality staff like AirAsia or Singapore Airlines.
This is really pathetic. I understand that there is a rationale for MAS to cut operating expenses, but a few slices of cucumber, kacang and anchovies will cost no more than 10 sen per serve.
For goodness sake, if need be, just raise the airfares by 10 sen. Or better still, get the management to take a huge pay cut since they have been mismanaging the airline so badly.
It is the worst managed airline I have taken too. The only reason I still take it is that being a Malaysian, I am duty bound to support our national airline. I hope that the management will shape up.
Complains from little common passengers like us either turned into a racial or religious issue or totally ignored. Now that a famous chef criticise the management, I really hope it will get some results.
Chef Wan, the sorry state of this nasi lemak in the MAS flight is the actual state of MAS itself. MAS is also now 'naked' as far as its financial statement is concerned.
If it was Teresa Kok who'd highlighted MAS' bare nasi lemak, she'd been accused by the some idiots of being seditious against the Malays, as well as having no regards for Malay sensitivities.
Cut/save cost at the expense of paying passengers? Really stupid management. We can complain till the cows come home but will MAS management take heed? A good management does not wait till the company reaches such a bad shape et still doesn't take remedial action (or will there be any effective one). Obviously those at the top (mostly cronies with inflated egos) couldn't bother as long as they are able to keep milking the poor cow until it collapses. After all, there's always the federal govt to bail it out. In short, we have thick-skinned, non-civic minded, shameless and unpatriotic people running companies like MAS at the expense of the country and the rakyat. This lot is self-praising, selfish and greedy and are deaf and blind - obliviously to all the sufferings the country is going through. Where is national pride?
No wonder the share price of MAS is in the dumps- Less than a ringgit would you believe it? They are losing money every day and has to resort to cutting costs by serving low quality food! If ordinary folks complained about MAS service they will get the silent treatment; but thanks to Chef Wan, MAS has to "look into it".
Rumors said that may be Brahim will take over MAS that's why need to perform some market price adjustment 1st.Is better to serve with naked nasi lemak rather than later need to swim naked lol.
BTW, three different occasions we flew KL_Beijing route...and all the three times MAS flight air-cond rosak...and that was a newish plane with over 350 people on board...so friends, fly any airlines you like except MAS, an airline that does not care for passenger comfort, and totally dependent on support of people with misplaced patriotism...
Long ago, there was an airline called Malayan Airways. Then it became Malaysian-Singapore Airlines (MSA). For political reasons later it split into Malaysian Airline System (MAS) and Singapore Airlines (SIA). MAS operates domestic n int'l flights whereas SIA only has intn'l flights as its country is too small. MAS domestic flights were always full as AirAsia wasn't born yet. Now, abt 40 years later MAS had become a losing money airline due to poor management, cronysm, nepotism, and CORRUPTION. Yet it could claim to have been given awards. Wonder who were behind all these awards? Passengers of MAS (other than VVIPs who would receive better service and treatment) can vouch for the lousy quality. No wonder PM and wife will travel in private jets only. On the other hand, the no-nonsense management of SIA was given an ultimatum by their then prime minister - either they make it or break it. And they made it to be REALLY the best airline. Sad story for Malaysians.
MAS inflight meals are lousy. Most of the time the flight MH0003 from London to KL run out of nasi lemak for most passengers in economy class . While Some steawards and stewardesses could be seen eating nasi lemak in the kitchen.
Now you know why MAS has had such a poor showing financially ! People don't mind paying a little more to fly in foreign airlines when MAS services are inadequate and skimpy !
Never mind that MAS is undercutting fares, reducing its yield (the return on its available seats multiplied by kilometres flown, a measure of pricing) even as it fills up its planes to unheard of levels in terms of load factor (a measure of capacity utilisation), as explained here.
Never mind that it continues to lose money as it persists with this insane pursuit of loading up the planes cheaply, charging fares often lower than those of budget airlines.
Never mind that it cuts corners as a full service airline to satisfy this insatiable craving for better capacity utilisation.
But why, oh why, do you have to scrimp and save and do something so sacrilegious as to heap insult and injury upon one of our national dishes loved by one and all Malaysians, yes, the humble nasi lemak?
How can you serve Malaysia Airlines’ customers a “naked” nasi lemak when no one down on terra firma would dream of doing that?
Years ago MAS had a very successful and profitable flight kitchen. Its food was so good that even other airlines purchased their inflight meals from MAS. During Abdullah Badawi's reign MAS closed down its flight kitchen and gave a 25 year contract to purchase its in-flight meals from Abdullah Badawi's brother. There is no need to wonder why MAS loses billions of ringgit when it implements policies like this. UMNO Youth calls this a part of the "Malay agenda". In UMNO-speak it means enriching a chosen few while keeping this GLC afloat at all costs with tax payers funds.
A corporation must be run like any other corporate organisation, free from invisible hand. The problem with MAS is that it has inherited a lot of sickness from the many years it had been run like a charitable organisation. Too many head counts, unions and outsourcing contracts which may not be of the best interest to the company. Ahmad Jauhari's hands are tied, to do this, will offend who and who, so how to restructure effectively? The latest move to cut non profitable routes is good. Keep it up as it's going to be a mammoth task to move this giant
