Foreign rate of delivery for domestic postage is RM3 to RM4 for letters; its so low price in Malaysia domestic delivery rates; if you drive to deliver on your own, it cost you so mush more to drive to the destination on fuel alone, not to mention wear and tear and your valuable time.

haha . frankly .. POS just need to reinvent itself first .. It can become the next MAS if not being guided properly.. adapt the digitalisation, 4th IR. They have the best resources. After that need to rebrand .. the logo itself is quite old .. look at new Yahoo! ... so fresh ..

Following are the future scenario of POS
(a) because POS, under the USO legislation, is obliged to deliver to all addresses new and old, it is close to impossible for the government to not raise the tariffs to either RM 1 from 60sen or accept the cost plus basis. It is likely that RM 1 will be the solution. With this hike, POS can suffer a decline of 20% snail mail volume and still not suffer a loss (b) POS's courier service is growing. Vs last year Q2 it grew 10% (c) POS provides logistics biz to PROTON cars, so this segment will grow bcoz there is a waiting period of 2 to 2 months for PROTON cars now (d) now that international rates will be raised it will be fairer to POS

Ambank valuation of rm 1.33 assumes continue loss of POS postal services. Which is unrealistic because it will be unfair to POS if a significant tariff adjustment is not allowed but yet they are obliged to honour the USO.

Why postal segment only POS doing, it is because no other company able to provide same intensive coverage with so low rate. Currently courier companies are charging around RM6 to deliver a document weigh 200grams locally which POS charging 60cents for same weight document but only takes longer period to deliver.
It takes hundred years for POS to grow to such big scale, many assets, vehicles, buildings and lands already paid off so POS can still survive with current postal rate.
