PETALING JAYA: Casinos in Genting Highlands are closed until further notice, Resorts World Genting has announced today.

This comes a day after senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he was unaware that the casinos had been operating and had instructed them to be closed last Friday.

Casino in Malaysia is closed, but other part of the world start to open. UK, US, etc,..at least this reduce the impact to the revenue to Genm overall.

Theme park the most attractive to all, is under testing now. It will be just right time to open after most people vaccinated. The hotels should open just 50% for book next half year, and after virus gone, 100% open and all family can up for big party. Imagine 100% booking and expensive hotels that time and hard to get free room. Sure all Malaysian will up visit at least one time.

Hmm there will be one time surge on the profit for at least for one quarter. People will be crazy for travel after covid. Who don't love travel after spending 2 years stuck at your own home? After this covid, they will realize they need to go explore outside world more than before as they never know when the time they can't travel anymore.

Regional travel will start first before international travel comes. Anyway, just collect slowly and good luck.

Now vac rate about 100k a day and about 2.3 mil people have already been vaccinated. Expected to reach 150k target a day. 150k x 7 days = 1mil per week. 1 month = 1mil x 4 week per month = 4 mil per month. 4 mil x 4 months = 16 mil..

16 mil + 2.3 mil = 18.6 mil


18.6/ 30 mil = 62% ...8 percent more to reach herd immunity.

Around september/ october..cases will drop a lot ...follow uk us israel covid curve.

Conclusion : load up recovery stocks when cheap. DUMP gloves.

If you look the statistics, typically if you are 30% vaccinate rate, you will start to see the effect on cases, also need to consider the daily infection and ppl recover could also contribute to herd immunity due to natural antibody. The spotlight is on the vaccination right now, and I believe with the current increasing cases and death, the urgency to procure vaccine is higher and higher due to public pressure. Soon we will reach the top in terms of cases per million, I'm hoping the manufacturer could deliver the vaccine due to urgent need.

Genting 2.3b revenue, 330m loss. Genm 620m revenue, 483m loss. Which you think is better.

Genting Berhad will incur a lot of start up cost. From RWLV, Gens expansion and Japan casino (if win the bid). Genm immediately can see the cash coming in once intestate travel allow. No more huge capex for genm.

@ongth60... the period between 2 doses is about 3 weeks. Just add another 3 weeks to sep/oct will be around nov/december. You dont need full doses to see the effect. 1 dose is enough to give 50%

I think i m wrong for the figure of first dose. First dose around 1.4m?? So just minus more or less 600k wont change the percentage much.

0.6÷30 = 2% ????

Anyway, since market is usually 6 months ahrad of reality...it's good to load up recovery stocks when cheap.

Heard that lots of people very optimistic about vaccine progress for country.. really want to joke?

Total population for Malaysia was 32m and per month only able to secure 1m dose. Meaning that it need to take 32 months !! To ensure everyone to have the vaccines.. do simple calculations and understand about it.. not just straight believe on figure been posted..

Bear in mind, whole world are fighting for their quota.. any delay will just continue drag on current situation or become worst..
