TM inside KLCI index but only evoked a tepid response. Also in the red this morning. No big deal.

Airport went up because planes are starting to again. If air travel reverts to normal, Airport price would already have shot up. Stock prices are forward looking.
If u look the GLCs, including those in oil .. all went up.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 6): Malaysia is not ready for an exit strategy from Covid-19, with the government continuing to use Act 342, or the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, to monitor the situation of Covid-19.

In a media briefing, Ministry of Health (MoH) director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the act will be used as a monitoring and enforcement tool as more sectors open up.

“We still have to use Act 342 as a monitoring and enforcement tool when we open more sectors. If there is an outbreak or rise in cases in one location or target group, we might implement an EMCO or SEMCO (semi-enhanced movement control order). We will isolate the area and test all of those who live there regardless of they are Malaysians or not. If they test positive, we will isolate them, and their close contacts will be quarantined,” he said while reiterating that Malaysia is now entering the recovery phase.

Noor Hisham added that enforcement of the act had been delegated to the police, army and the People's Volunteer Corps (Rela).

He said it is crucial to monitor the development of the pandemic during this phase, and the act will help in this regard.

“Border controls will continue to remain tight. We will block those coming in from abroad, and not encourage Malaysians to leave the country. We have to tighten our borders further,” he said.

Google flights have shown updated pricing for airlines (airasia), with price reduction.

#of flights jumping upwards. Should see an uptick in demand soon as the cost of flights becomes much more bearable.

S&P: Credit measures for some sectors may take until 2022, 2023, and beyond, to fully recover
KUALA LUMPUR (June 25): While businesses around the world are starting to reopen, albeit unevenly, after coronavirus-driven lockdowns, credit measures for some sectors may take until 2022, 2023, and beyond, to fully recover, said S&P Global Ratings.
In a report titled "COVID-19 Heat Map: Post-Crisis Credit Recovery Could Take To 2022 And Beyond For Some Sectors," S&P Global Ratings highlighted regional recovery estimates by sector for 2020-2021 compared to 2019.
It said some industries, notably those that involve groups of people in close proximity (e.g., cruises, airlines, airports, gyms, theaters, restaurants, retail, etc.), may not return to prior levels of revenue for several years.
It said for some industries, such as enclosed retail malls, it could be several years, if ever, as distancing measures and the recession may accelerate consumer shifts to other channels.
S&P said government intervention and short-term work programs have dampened the effects of a near halt in business activity in many regions.
The agency said while service employees are returning to work, it may take several years for unemployment levels to return to pre-crisis levels.
The pace and stability of employment recovery will feed into consumer sentiment, business confidence, and corporate investment plans, it said.
“Many industries that were facing a high degree of fixed costs or drastically lower revenue (or some portion of both) were forced to dip into cash balances or borrow to fund operations.
“While revenue for these sectors may recover as soon as next year, a full recovery of credit metrics will take longer as companies dig out of the higher debt load they now carry,” it said.

MingGoon i encourage newbies to invest. Not speculate and follow the market.. unless very disciplined, retailers can hardly beat large funds.

Next year revenue will be back, 2021 for finance and credit healing, 2022-2023 we'll be back in full force possibly rm8-10 plus inflation, maybe 11-12. That's like 10-20% return of investment per year

These are good times for folks to slowly dip their feet into investments, and buy stocks that you like. 2-3 years is not a long time anyway....

ttluck Wait drop back till below RM5 first..
25/06/2020 9:35 PM

ttluck : I fully agree with you.

If newbies want to learn to invest, that is their hard earn money. If the newbies are the new millennium, then, need to most important get confidence.

ttluck: yes, if wait below RM5, this is a very good investment. Long term...
If buy at this price now RM5.61 - this is trading, day trade, contra trade, speculate, very very risky !
Unless the newbies, have all the experience on how to handle Airport at RM5.61 price.

If not the newbies, you are parting with your hard earn money at RM5.61 ( if you invest for long term), and also parting with your fragile confidence.

However, if you are a good trader/ day trade, buy at RM5.61, who knows you might earn some extra pocket money.

Think about that !
