Five of the largest Canadian producers - West Fraser Timber (OTCPK:WFTBF +4.6%), Norbord (OSB +4.9%), Canfor (OTCPK:CFPZF +7%), Interfor (OTC:IFSPF+5%) and CanWel Building Materials (OTC:CWXZF +1%) - all set new 52-week highs in Toronto, driven by new record high prices for lumber and wood panel products due to continuing robust demand from renovation and new home markets.September lumber on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange earlier jumped by the exchange maximum $29, or +3.85% to $783 per 1,000 board feet, after settling yesterday at a record $754
Q2 was better than expected as what highlighted by @sense maker.
Recovery in Q3 & peak Q4 is on its way, 2H comfirmed in green due to no lockdown so far in Msia as well as Japan, S. Korea & China - Hevea's key markets.
One good news importation banned on ParticleBoard & Firbreboard effective mid-Oct will translate to ASP recovery. Pirce up = Bottomline go up
@Patrick13 confirmed under amendment P.U. (A) 231/2020.
Try to search Federal Government Gazette. I double checked after read HLIB source highlighted about banned on importation of ParticleBoard/ChipBoard & Fibreboard.
Under amendment List Of P.U. look for P.U. (A) 231/2020.
Effective 17th October prohibition of import from All Countries for ParticleBoard/ChipBoard & FibreBoard.
It will certainly benefit ParticleBoard & ChipBoard players. Can expect gradual recovery of ASP in Q3 while Q4 will be much stronger when the act come into effect.
Management already guided Q3 will be a turnaround coz no disruption of supply chain anymore and so far no further lockdown due to Zombie Virus.
Q4 and onwards increase in ASP will be the catalyst. Stay tune medium to longer term price momentum..
from HL: Hevea has secured orders until Feb 2021. Additionally, we are encouraged by the fact that Hevea has received interest from US-based companies to supply RTA furniture. Currently, US accounts for >5% of their total RTA sales. While we understand demand for furniture products globally has spiked, Hevea’s ~2,000 labour are already working at full capacity. While Hevea has the factory space to increase RTA productions by 20%, we understand that production is bottlenecked by the availability of foreign labour due to the freezing of hiring foreign labour until year-end.
Don't quite understand how HL put their TP0.48. assuming both new and old plant utilization reach 100%, and with the automation investment over the past years, Hevea should be easilby back up above RM1.20 right? management has said that the MCO has open doors for their eringi business into AEON
