wow SOP finally moved! I have been following SOP since 3.4 and 3.6 today SOP is one of the best performing plantation counter. I realised SOP has lowest PE among its peer
Jojo85, you have to compared the revenue not the profit. Every company having different margin ya. Had you read the all financial statement utdplt? Qoq revenue 294m to 334m. Qoq profit 123m to 95m. Compared where the cost increased or one off expense taken up. Increased in oil palm price will lead more profit in future quarter as long as magement control the costing properly. Just same thing apply to glove when asp increased. But government gonna charged 5% windfall tax for oil palm sector. Sales per ton above 2500, charged 5% from the extra of 2500
SOP having more production than utdplt, so the extra revenue of margin will not have any cost inside. I expect coming qr should have more than 100m profit, since last qr 600m revenue and 41m profit. Apr to Jun 2k to 2.2k Jul onward price between 2.6k to 3k. So if having same quantity of production, just take extra 10% margin from increased price. 41m prior profit + 60m (10% of 600m revenue last qr).
And you will see eps 19sen when profit reached 115m per qr.
XxxXzz yes totally agreed. Cpo hitting their highest prices last seen in 2014-2015 period { > 3,200 - 3,400 per tonne} a combination of fundamentals and weather
KLK today's QR prospect: Prevailing CPO prices are buoyant as palm oil inventories remained tight, supported by higher exports. In view of this, plantation profit for financial year 2021 is expected to be much improved.
currently experienced a very tight supply situation for oil and fat in world market, reasonable good price for palm oil at least for another six months or more.
Effective Jan 1, 2020, a 3% windfall tax per tonne is imposed on planters in Peninsular Malaysia if CPO prices surpass RM2,500 a tonne, earlier news reports quoted MPOB as saying. For planters in Sabah and Sarawak, a 1.5% windfall tax will be slapped if CPO prices exceed RM3,000 per tonne, MPOB said
If windfall tax is around 1.5%, i dont think it will affect much right?
Punters are more keen in penny stocks { pump and dump } whereas plantation are deem for longer term hold strategy. IBs and fund houses are investing for long term whereas retail players are gunning for quick action.
