NST 24 Apr 2020 >>> KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is said to have reduced the number of its fully active rigs from 18 to four since oil price began dropping late last year.

The national oil company had shut down or warm-stacked 14 projects until oil price recovers to break even levels, an industry publication reported, quoting sources.

Principal Asset Management Bhd, which served 700,000 investors with RM58.2 billion of assets under management as of last year, said there were increasing risks of some Petronas projects being delayed due to prolonged lockdowns and further disruptions in the global supply chain.

The impact of the project delays would likely be cascaded down and adversely affected upstream service providers, Principal chief investment officer Patrick Chang said in a statement today.

Next week is quite eventful ... Thursday is Brent oil June2020 contract expiry date, no sure whether any oil price collapse or not ... Friday suppose to be able to do short selling for IDSS, no sure whether Bursa would announce extension or not ... Could be a roller coaster week ...

Great T800. It's good that Gkent keeps buyback their share almost everyday. Unfortunately, Gkent is still not in my collection yet as I already have 7 Construction Companies. Construction is under my VMY Boutique together with Steel Companies and other related companies that is contributing and supporting my VMY 2020 Business Plan.

Yes we are in same boat in many counters. One of the good one is Alam. I think lots of people makes a lot of money in that Battleship when it exploded. I bet yourself, Panda and many more were smiling all the way to the bank.

I'm expecting the same here with Dayang. Now still on collection mode waiting for the next right price for another collection.

Now that the "Bad" news from Petronas is over and they will commit and maintain this year CAPEX in Malaysia.. We should look forward for next week

As stated earlier, next week will be quite eventful.

Saudi Aramco began reducing oil production earlier this week ahead of the May 1 start date for OPEC+ output cuts, according to a Saudi industry official familiar with the matter.

Aramco has begun to curtail production from about 12 million barrels a day to achieve the agreed level of 8.5 million barrels a day, the person said, asking not to be named discussing private information. The country joins fellow OPEC members Kuwait, Algeria and Nigeria in kicking off cuts early.

Thursday is Brent oil June 2020 contract expiry date, hopefully with the Saudi and OPEC + latest move it will stabilize the oil price.

Friday The Short Traders will be back, meaning short selling by IDSS. This could be a roller coaster week. Let's see how this will develop. Nevertheless, if you still collecting it will be an excellent opportunity to further average down

So far, the oil price spike or fall doesn't affect the price drastically. I would advise to have a proper trading plan and keeping to it, rather than flip flopping between sell run and buy every day because of oil price. My take is that most downstream and middle stream battleships will rise steadily. Whenever possible reduce your holding in the upstream. Buy when there is a long candlestick. Luckily we have a good trader like paktua here in this forum. So let's follow his tips.

Once you on board, you need to be patience as it may fluctuate sideways until the volatility stabilize. Only BUY if you have a horizon 6-12 months.

I'm looking forward to collect my 6th Batches next week..
