TROPICANA Corp Bhd's founder and controlling shareholder, Tan Sri Danny Tan Chee Sing retired as its Group Executive Vice Chairman and has relinquished his day-to-day management role in the group, effective June 18, 2015.
"I have turned 60 this year and after having dedicated more than three and a half decades of my life to the business, it’s timely to pass the baton to the new generation of leadership,"he said.
Tan founded the Group in 1992 and said he was very proud of Tropicana’s achievement today, being one of the top 10 property developers in Malaysia with a record revenue of close to RM2 billion and total assets over RM7.2 billion in FY2014.

Dion Tan Yong Chien fill in as Executive Director replacing his sister, Diana Tan Sheik Ni and both effective from 18 June 2015.
Mr Dion Tan is the third son of Tan Sri Danny Tan. He obtained a Master of Science in Management with Information Systems and Innovation from London School of Economics, United Kingdom in 2012.
Mr Dion Tan was with Accenture, a global management and technology consulting firm, as a strategy consultant .
Besides , Ms Diana Tan Sheik Ni has stepped down as Executive Director of Tropicana, while Dato’ Francis Ng Tian Sang @ Ng Kek Chuan and Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Annuar bin Zaini have retired as Independent Non-Executive Directors of Tropicana.

Tropicana Corp Bhd is among the developers contributing to the change, with its RM7.2 billion Tropicana Metropark integrated mixed development. The 35.4ha development sits on prime freehold land in the Subang Hi-Tech Industrial Park and will have, among others, a 3.7ha central park and a new flyover linking it directly to the Federal Highway.
Tropicana, which is best known for its Tropicana Golf and Country Resort in Petaling Jaya, acquired the land in 2011 for RM385.5 million.
