if you go to parkson store now, you can see the sale with big discount. Similarly now the shares sale promotion for year end now. Don't miss the chance for the year end sale
probably GIC, question, company bought back about 1mil of the 3.9mil transacted shares, who are the people who collected the remaining 2.9mil shares? Retail investors? Some institutional players?
If China's business recover, the company revenue and profit will increase. Company's has strong brand. Wait and see the right opportunity to accumulate the stock.
There wasn't any announcement of disposal by major shareholder except buyback news from Parkson on Bursa?? This is the bottom price that I never saw it since 2008. Unbelievable !! Is it a great opportunity or more dropping in front??
This Dec, we just missed our dividen announcement, isn't implied that Parkson got very weak earning? I think the share price just drop too much and that will not happen for no reason. Got to find it out first.
I think Tan Sri Cheng had made one mistake with Parkson in the past. He should buy or build the buildings with Parkson inside it like what AEON did to its business. 10 years old, Parkson was way more expensive than AEON, now? turn around story already. Now, Parkson sitting on his 1 billion cash pile seeing its store in China got to pay higher and higher rental until the earning's visibility also turn dark. He needs to learn the success of McDonald business. But, in the last few years, he had already changed the company's strategy into this director, build their own mall.
please accept the fact. whatever good time already pass. In Malaysia, where u can see parkson? or just see aeon? In china, competition also not easy. China is big, but big does not means got part of cake for you.
know what i think about parkson? in melaka not in other part of the world...yeah in melaka...in my place...people prefer jaya jusco, tesco and mydin...and the worst is giant...while parkson attract much better no of customers compared to giant...which is very embrassing (i mean for giant)...parkson just can't compete against the top 3...and many more smaller hypermarket like econsave/family store
may be because the jam surrounding parkson...or it is easier to park car in other shopping complex compared to parkson...too crowded with the opposite shopping complex opposite it
aeon, giant, tesco is going to affordable to mid range products to suit the major middle / low income earners in malaysia.... for parkson, what i can see is they`re still targetting high income earners to shop which is not going to work too well as most of the shoppers are looking for affordable products....
there is a lot of foreign brand coming in agresively like unilo ,H & M, Zara and also local Padini, brand outlet . Parkson like it or not have to compete with these brands for the high and the mid end market. Going forward it would not be easy.
Parkson needs to change with the trend of shoppers. They should look at the larger market (the middle income and below). These market is huge and if they tap into which I think they have the infratructure and finance to do it. Then they will do well.Is not to late to change.
this down fall could be William selling to get fund for paying mega steel bank loan. Parkson in china is a high end dept store, its 1 class above many local chains. If you do a survey you will find that many china students in Malaysia like to buy apparels from Parkson as the same stuffs will cost 3 x in Shanghai n Beijin. In malaysia Parkson is same class as Isetan n Metrojaya. The rest are hyper concept selling cheap apparels. Aeon is catching up but their profit mainly from complex managements, just ask your wife and daughters how often they buy fashions from AEON ? probably they will answer you back AEON got sell latest trends meh !!! The share is under selling by some funds now, can buy a bit for investment.
totally agreed with harvard57... although AEON is good and everywhere i hardly buy cloths from them... and for grocery normally i either go tesco or giant
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
