I m here for discussion and seeking other's opinion as well. everyone is open to his/her opinion or thoughts. No one is forced or obligated to follow blindly just like what you said all this while.

Why nobody suggest Parkson to continue share buy back? Buy back shares when share price is low can save money and proof to people Parkson still have money.

Posted by sharebuyback > 2015-07-22 09:47 | Report Abuse

Adcool should give Parkson management e-mail to hooi to suggest on behalf of i3 members shareholders to resume share buy back.

no point parkson share buyback to give back as share dividend, cos ppl just dump it back in open market to parkson.

I don't support shares buyback. I support cash dividend instead.

Share dividend pull down price? Why so desperate(WC no sell) to sell? If no share buy back how Parkson can go up?

I check last Parkson share buy back is on 8th June at RM 1.89. Since the share buy back stop Parkson drop by 60sen.

Question is if Parkson give 5-10sen dividend can Parkson move up back to recover the 60sen loss?

Aggresive share buyback started around end 2012 / early 2013 and the price then was above RM4. 4 shares dividends since then and now the price is RM1.29. I really have no idea on how you justify the share buyback program being able to lift the counter's price.

The weakening ringgit and unabating political issues in the country are affecting consumer sentiment and negatively impacting the local retail sector.

The weak ringgit is affecting the cost of goods due to higher import cost, according to Retail Group Malaysia (RGM) managing director Tan Hai Hsin.

“This will lead to higher retail prices.

“Higher import costs are affecting all retail sectors, from grocery stores, restaurants, fashion stores, furniture stores, electrical and electronics stores.

“Higher retail prices will be more apparent by the third quarter of this year. By then, Malaysian consumers’ purchasing power will decline further,” he told StarBiz.

He added that the current political developments in the country were affecting retail sales indirectly.

“The current political situation is affecting the consumer sentiment level or buying mood of Malaysian consumers. They are frustrated, confused and are uncertain of their future in this country. As a result, they are less willing to buy more.

Surprisingly PHB did not drop much for the last 1 week while other counters were dropping. Guess PHB has found its bottom after 3 years of drop.
