MTES approves applications related to Langat

he Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) has approved several applications made by agencies and local authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of Langat 2 water project.

Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the approval involved planning permission and construction work at the Langat 2 project site.    

"MTES today approved applications from the land office, Kajang Municipal Council and the Selangor Forestry Department," he told Bernama when hosting the Selangor government open house at his official residence in Shah Alam today.

Langat 2 is part of the Raw Water Transfer Project to treat 1.89 billion litres of raw water supplied to Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya until 2025.

Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Dr Maximus Ongkili blamed the Selangor government for delaying Langat 2 by ordering agencies and local authorities to suspend approval of permits until the restructuring of the water industry was finalised.

SHAH ALAM, 2 OGOS: Kerajaan Selangor memberikan jaminan kadar tarif air di negeri itu tiada sebarang perubahan walaupun beberapa negeri lain seperti Johor dan Labuan berlaku peningkatan harga.

Exco Infrastruktur, Kemudahan Awam, Pemodenan Pertanian dan Industri Asa Tani, Zaidy Abdul Talib berkata, pengekalan tarif air itu bagi memastikan kebajikan rakyat terus diberi keutamaan.

"Untuk jangka waktu ini, Kerajaan negeri tidak memikirkan untuk menaikkan tarif air seperti yang berlaku di Johor dan Labuan.

"Kami tidak akan membebankan rakyat terutama dalam berhadapan dengan kos sara hidup yang semakin meningkat," katanya kepada Selangor Kini.

Zaidy berkata, penstrukturan air yang bakal disempurnakan bakal memberi manfaat kepada rakyat dalam semua spek termasuk tarif air.

"Pada saat ini, kerajaan prihatin penstrukturan semula air itu hanya memberi kebaikan dan bukan membebankan rakyat.

"Untuk tempoh yang akan datang juga kerajaan terus usahakan yang terbaik buat rakyat dalam semua aspek termasuk tarif air," katanya.

Didn't detect Any delay in Puncak deal from Open House conversation last week.
Azmin no longer holds advantage over Fed bcoz Langat 2 land titles transfer are expected
to be completed in 2 weeks time. At the same time, PAAB will receive collateral titles for 2 bil
cash also in 2 weeks time. All in all expect, 15 Aug, as the final date where all major transfer
to be completed.
I was also told to wait for news of Splash in coming 2 weeks--hoping for some break through.

Muyidin sack could be risk for the deal if supplementary agreement is not honor by Fed gov. But, so far, thing look smoothly, PAAB expect earlier than target date to complete deal by end of Aug, State also progressively release require approved permit for Langat 2 development. Therefore, it is in execution stage rather than at negotiation stage, expect more update news either these week or next week on asset transfer progress.
