Warrant holders are not entitled to special dividend of RM1.00, so price of warrant will drop substantially if not converted. Those owning warrants, make sure to convert immediately. An example, currently Puncak is at 2.86. Assuming price is to remain the same at 2.86 right before ex-date, Puncak will trade at 1.86 ex-special dividend date (since RM1.00 is to be distributed end of December) and warrant should trade around +/- 0.86. BEWARE!!!
To those still owning warrants, it's better to have them converted than selling at this price. It's actually not difficult, just call up your broker and seek help. There is still time, so long you bought it on last Friday or earlier. To those with some experience, call the registrar office to learn more. It's a shame we small investors be corned by those professionals at this moment of time. Just sharing what I know and hope I have not annoyed anyone.
ahbeng11, if you don't own the warrant now, its too late to convert already (registrar office needs to have the application by the latest Nov 25 before you are entitled to special dividend - or check with registrar office before buying). Remember, you need T+3 to get shares into your account, another day to prepare all paper work to have it sent to registrar office (a few more days of delay if your shares are parked under nominee in margin account.) Then, it would take registrar office another 5 - 7 working days to get those shares converted before mother shares appear in your account.
kahheong. I bought the warrant few months ago. Last Monday, I sent the warrant convertion form. On Wednesday, the amount of warrant that I wish to be converted removed from my account. However, until today, there are no new puncak mother shares added into my account. Is this normal?
Tree21, yes, you should receive yours within this week if I were not wrong. For confirmation, you can always check with the registrar office. The contact is available on the Puncak announcement on the Bursa with regards to conversion of warrants.
YES, for sure will deduct RM1.00. i also know only after i bought the share, but i sold all my share after confirm it will deduct RM1. Pls consult your reminser to know more info on the RM1 deduction.
To any stock, any dividend of any kind will face a adjustment post dividend date... the bigger question is, how much will Puncak price rise post special dividend date, that's open to any guess
After waited for so long from pre signing to post signing...and after dividend declaration.... So sad to c this is the end result....well...no choice then.... Just proceed to sell if that is the case....to sell today...c puncak also sedih....no year end holiday then... :-(
I bet my whole lifetime I will make $ on this counter btw I m positive already . I hav even held stock until major shareholder passed away so u want to frighten me hahaha
the terms dividend shall mean money paid from the profit ( whatever reason ). It will not change the stock price down RM 1. The stock price move because of market/people. Let say 4th Dec price is RM 2.85, if touch 30% limit down, which is RM 1.99. If capital repayment then only stock price adjustment. In real market, stock price after ex-date normally down, because ppl already got their dividend, so they cabut as long as still got profit.
last time i also encounter one very funny weird situation when Sapura and Kencana merge ( now is Sapura Kencana. If i remember correctly, every share will earn around RM 0.50 per share after merge. But still people dumping and make the gap wider to RM 0.70 to RM 1 range earning. Then i sapu. At the date of merge, i can't sleep because i earn too much .
another funny weird case is privatization. When officially announced confirm privatization date, and ex date some more. Still people dumping. and the earning could be range 3% to 5% in just 2 weeks time or less. Fixed deposit also 3% per annum average but this one 2 weeks only
puncak wb will definitely drop to 80+ cent in this few days, yet still got ppl buying. haha.,..very funny.
**Filidon - i will say it is 100% will deduct Rm1.00. If you do not believe, Please just call up your reminser or securities firm manager and ask!!! you no need to listen to us, just call and find out yourself!!!
Those who bought WB must be thinking to capitalize on converting to PUNCAK share after the dividend Ex-Date & payouts. Investors not traders will buy WB perhaps.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
